Morning! Lets pray for a nice qualifying session. Interesting to know if Mclaren can catch up, and how Mercedes and Force India will go. And whether the BBC guys will need towels describing DiResta's performance.

The amount of dirt outside the racing line and also in the air, it's outstanding. That amount of dust on the track plus the marbles is going to be tricky for the race.

Very nice shots of the new Mclaren front wing. I expect to see lots of stills on the mp4-26 thread.

Schumacher looks handy, not too far from Webber. Toro Rosso is quick in the speed traps. 323 for Alguersuari. Next best is 315!!

Schumacher is going out on a set of hards now. Please damn live timing, i wish youd show the current lap times too, not just the fastest.

So awesome that it's slow, and dangerous. What Ferrari want is divergence, not flutter. Their aerodynamicists should be shot

Chill out man. Ferrari is not sending his drivers with that wing if there is any risk.

BBC pit-lane reporter Ted Kravitz: "If you were watching practice on Friday you will have seem alarming shots of Ferrari's development wing scraping along the ground at the end of the main straight. It appears that rather than simple flexing issues this has been caused by resonance - when the natural vibrations of the wing counteract with the car's vibrations from the track and combine to shake the wing almost to pieces. It would have been a complete surprise to Ferrari but they can fix this one of two ways; firstly they can run the old-spec wing that doesn't have this resonance problem or they can place weight in the new wing to change its properties."

I remember Vettel crashing into Button or Hamilton last year with the wing flexing like crazy.

not place weight, more like change the fiber layup in order to change the material properties, especially stiffness. Ferrari just changed Massa's front wing. Why? Wear

Massa still fast with a non-flexing front wing - lost 3 tenths in the final sector for 2nd place.

I'm depressed, slower than jenson, not getting on with the hard tyres he supposedly likes, 3 place grid penalty to come...and it's all irrelevant as vettel is going to piss on everyone anyway

I think track is going to be a big factor, with so much dirt, the driver going last will have an advantage.

Massa was 3 tenths slower than yesterday, so either the changed front wing isn't as fast, he made a mistake today, or they weren't running on a qualifying fuel load.

I doubt Ferrari are sandbagging. 5 tenths behind Mclaren in qualifying is about right with the previous races.

Or track conditions, winds have changed. Don't think Ferrari's are more than a second slower than Vettel, but Alonso looked a bit deflated once out of the car and Lewis and Mark looking hard at their times to see if/where they could gain.

It's slightly frustrating watching the McLaren- and Ferrari-drivers fighting their cars all around the lap, giving it all they've got, and then you see Vettel who doesn't make one correction but misses a couple of apexes, but is still one plus second quicker!

...on the hard compound, thankfully it looked closer on the soft so perhaps the time-sheet will look half ok after qualifying.

...Oh, and the Ferrai front-wing is a joke! Wonder if they were told "hey guys, gone a bit too far with the flexing perhaps? I advise you not to use it for the rest of the weekend. Yours watchfully, Charlie Whiting"

I think Ferrari realized one big thing. It is not just the flexi wing. What matters is the whole car, underbody, rear aero, etc. They could make the wing flex like dandy, but may not mean much. The end plates are normally so close to the track that be it is not that much help in getting just the end plates lower if much of the front wing is going to stay higher, may be they went way overboard where the wing is scrapping all over the track. Whatever be the case, Red Bull and McLaren have been a better team for 3 years in a row now.

It will be interesting to see whether Red Bull will save a set of soft tyres and run hards in Q2. I certainly feel they have enough pace to get into top 10 in Q2 even with hard tyres.

I don't think there is a reason to save tyres. Tyres are lasting very long here, so 1-2 laps on softs won't matter.

Thing is, the smaller teams wil make it uncomfortable for the front-runners by using the softs in Q1. nothing new really, but with a relatively big difference between the compounds, the top teams might be forced onto the softs. Everyone but Red Bull probably.....

But I'm not sure, 'cause the difference between the soft an hard seems to have shrunk, based on FP3.
