Best known for his time at Williams where he was responsible for Finance and Sponsorship. He started racing saloon cars in the late 50's and as an Old Etonian became a close friend of Piers Courage and was a member of the group which also included Charles Lucas and Frank Williams.
A man of great intellect and a formidable opponent in any debate Sheri more recently supported his son Piers in his hillclimbing exploits.
He will be sadly missed by many people.

Of whom I am one. Very, very sad indeed to hear this news. Sincerest condolences to Sheridan's family and many friends. We last spoke only ten days or so ago...and he was as astute, formidably bright, thought-provoking - and funny - as ever. A fine man.

I last met with Sheridan at SW about six years ago. We hadn't kept in any form of regular contact, but I was humbled by the fact that he nevertheless remembered me from our regular dealings in the early eighties when he was at Willies and I was on 'Autosport'.
A lovely man and an 'old school' racer through & through.
He'll be greatly missed...
