2008 was the best looking year in the history of the sport. If DRS on a 2008 car can produce the same racing that we have right now, then I don't see why not. Apart from the fact it won't happen.

If you are referring to the whole grid, maybe... but I don't think any of the 2008 car is better then this one, for me this is one of the best looking F1 car ever.

I think most of the problem comes from the ugly front wings. Guess the high and narrow rear wings would still look ok.
PS: BTW. that's not only a great looking car, but also the fastest car ever build in F1.

Now that overtaking has become a mere formality with the drs, I wonder if we could do away with the half-hearted attempts to cut down on aerodynamical grip reliance, and go back to more exciting and better looking cars.

With the anvil engine covers gone, I think the current generation cars look pretty good.
I prefer them over the last generation of cars with all the awful fiddly aero bits growing on the cars. New cars are much cleaner looking.
Oh, and I really hated Mclaren's nose-shape from the last generation. Along with the awful paintjob(chrome with red wings?) and the scoop of a front wing, I dont understand how anybody can find those cars attractive. I'd say Mclaren's last good-looking car was in 2005.

The Pirellis might still make a difference--I think they accounted for overtaking more than the aero rules and DRS both did.DRS only accounted for about 30% of passes IIRC, so the new cars work. Going back to pre-2008 models wouldn't help.
Agreed--the 2008 cars were stunning. The last year of virtual aerodynamic freedom... I do miss the look of those cars very much--they just look faster than the cars that are running today.2008 was the best looking year in the history of the sport. If DRS on a 2008 car can produce the same racing that we have right now, then I don't see why not. Apart from the fact it won't happen.
Sort of agree with you here. Those look better on Le Mans cars than they do F1 cars, I think. With the anvil engine covers gone, I think the current generation cars look pretty good.
I actually think today's cars look rather bland, to be honest. I used to like comparing all the different aero packages on the last-generation cars.I prefer them over the last generation of cars with all the awful fiddly aero bits growing on the cars. New cars are much cleaner looking.
They had pewter in '06 before they went to chrome for '07 onwards, if I recall correctly. The chrome isn't too bad, I think--it gives them a distinctive appearance that sets them apart from the other teams, at the very least. I did like the black-and-white scheme from the 90's/early 00's, though.Oh, and I really hated Mclaren's nose-shape from the last generation. Now those are nice cars. I don't understand the hype around the mid-00 cars... they were a hideous mess of bits and pieces. I like pretty much every other era of cars.meh.
