Poor attempt to draw attention away from Fernandos failure. :drunk:

No. I wonder who dialed Kubica's number faster, Domenicali or Boullier?

Even with that mistake he was clearly faster. At least Alonso attempted to get in Q3 with a **** car.

He would've made Q3 I dare say and qualy'd at least 9th.

As for Massa well.... the guy has struggled since Hungary 09, and now he's stuck with an ill handling clear which is clearly not his strong suit. Combine that with the Italian press and I'd say it's very likely he's gone by years end.

Can only feel bad for him.

I don't think so. I thought Massa was poor last year but this season is shaping up to be a disaster for him. He needs to leave now for the sake of his sanity.

Massa's career is dead since Germany 2010.

Felipe was embarrassingly slow today. To his merit - he did not spin or crash very much but then again his teammate was over a sec faster. Sorry Felipe Baby, you belong somewhere else.

it was a hopeless performance by Massa... but I don't know, I think many other drivers would do that bad under the circumstances, Alonso looked to be extracting everything from an awfully hard car to drive, and Massa's driving is just not working with that car,
but anyway, Ferrari have nothing to loose by replacing Massa with someone else, so...

Who would replace him, though?

Nobody. Massa is here because nobody can take his car. Alguersuari ? Not serious. Bianchi ? too young.

The main problem is the car, Massa's problem it's he needs a fast car to be good. When the car is not good, or not as he likes, he is bad.

Since last year, Massa's performance show how good Alonso is.

I think he'll finish the season, but I'll eat my metaphorical hat if he's still there next year. Surely at this point Ferrari have got to be thinking that almost any other driver on the grid would be a better option, even if they can't get one of their first choices.

Massa is really emabarrasing - so slow he can't even beat Alonso who was out in Q2. I wonder how team like Ferrari can retain such a slow driver....

Its the gap that I was shocked about. Either Alonso was mega (likely) or Massa was useless and couldn't find the lap that the car could do (occasionally) or a bit of both, but he was only in Q2 because of a Kimi error, which was a concern

Unless Ferrari develop like monsters this year I can see a few people getting fired at the end of the year.

Given the situation with the current car I think the Ferrari management and the Tifosi would prefer a driver who spins off trying to get all the performance out of the car rather than an overly cautious driver who doesn't find the limit of the car. At least it looks like Fernando is trying.

Speaking as a fan of his. I will say here and now that it is very possible that he will not finish the season.

The question should be; will Ferrari finish the season? They better go out and save their last bit of pride. Massa is lost, but what else can you expect with a car that is completely out of touch?? Disaster cars deserve disaster performances. I hope Alonso will stop pushing and let that car not even finish in the top 10 all season. Maybe then they will do something. lol

He does not deserve this seat. Really, he is plain slow and each year (this, and last) "the tyres suit me better, the car suits me better". Hes been slow for too long now and there are better drivers out there than can do a better job in that seat. I can see a mid season swap with Perez, around Canada time.

Jarno should replace Massa. With Kimi's power steering problem it is clear now, that it is just problems of sencivity of some drivers, not only Jarno and Jarno has not lost his form. So he could do well in Massa's place, Alonso will be happy and Jarno is great development driver, he will help Ferrari to solve their problems

Lets be honest he hasn't had that seat on merit for a few seasons now. If he is still there by the end of the year I will be mighty surprised (but equally humoured :p ).

I don't see why not, its not like Ferrari ever dreamed of fighting for the WCC. They clearly are only interested in WDC and Massa fits into that role otherwise they would have got rid of him last year. I can't see Ferrari ever winning the WCC for a long time.

Hard to belief Felipe can still keep the faith. It was obvious his pace was a second slower than Fernando, and we've seen that plenty of times last year as well.

Not worth a Ferrari seat, but I don't see them dumping him before the end of the season.

Depends on if Ferrari can get in somebody like Alguersuari, Heidfeld and improbably even Sutil during mid season.

yeah, I agree it's not easy to figure out who would replace him...

I guess a couple of eye-opening results from the Sauber drivers could precipitate things though.. the door is wide open

Ferrari need to do a Capelli on him but not wait until the latter stages of the season - in fact they need to do an Arnoux on him. He has been a waste of space for some years now. While the car is bad they can allow the new driver to integrate within the team so that when they do get up to speed the new driver will be at home and can do the job. Plenty of talent out there to do the car justice.

You could have brough 34-year-old Ayrton Senna back to life with all his talent and he could not have done much better than Massa today. The car is just terrible. No sense in blaming Massa for this.

If Ferrari replaced Montezemolo and Domenicali with Ron Dennis and Whithmarsh, Massa might just find his speed again

I think Ferrari should swap Massa with either Perez or Kobayashi from Sauber. I think Massa would flourish at Sauber and would be able to reinvent himself away from the spotlight.
Ferrari would then get to try out one of two exciting young drivers in a season that at the first race is looking like a write off. Personally I'd stick Kobayashi in the car but it seems Perez could be Ferrari bound ultimately.

Are you kidding?, do you think the team wants Felipe to finish that low? :drunk: . If you bother reading the drivers comments, Felipe has a lot of balance problems with the car today. The worse the car, the better the difference between him and Alonso.
