According to the main AUTOSPORT site, Ted Cutting, designer of Astons including the legendary DBR1, has passed away at the age of 85:

Indeed he was - also immensely capable. I will always regret perpetrating the error of crediting Ted's peerless body design for the DBR1 to DB3S stylist Frank Feeley. To my eye the DBR1 body style is as good as we Brits ever got. When I fell on my sword with embarrassment for having failed to credit the right man Ted was faultlessly gracious. Sincere condolences to his family and many friends and admirers.

Thanks - not sure the mention of the 250GT, Porsche 550 and Elite as rivals at Le Mans, yet not mentioning the 250TR which surely was its main adversary really inspires confidence in the accuracy of the rest of the Obituary.

RIP Ted Cutting.
He seemed like a really nice man.
Hope he has a blast in the afterlife!
