It's interesting that there are rumours like that going round given that I thought it was fairly well known that he'd been away on paternity leave.Well. If the rumors are true that Latham has actually left the team because they would not back Hamilton for the title push (which it must be said is starting to look like a realistic scenario) - then I would say that it is more likely that Latham would be the one turning up at Mercedes.

Nope, that's the thing with the Pirellis, the harder the tyre, the lower the operating window.
It's easier to get the harder tyre working at 80-85°C, than the softer which has an optimal window from 95-100°C.

interesting, thanks

Interesting however is that next years Pirellis will be very much Micheliny in their design, very different.
Hughes is speculating that they want to get in a "practice year" with what they will most likely have to compete with in 2014, khm, Michelin comeback.
There have been lots of occasions this year when it took several laps to get temperature into the prime tyres, so I think your info must be incorrect.
Eg in Q1 teams have filled up with fuel and run 5-lap stints to get the tyres working, and in the race primes have been slower in the first lap or 2 than worn options.

Well, i think we are the juzgue in WDC. I think we are more quick than Ferrari in all situations. At India we are the most quick on prime rubber but didn´t fight with Red Bull even with Ferrari.
I think Lewis can will take pole tomorrow, and in race pace we are ver competitive.A win on sunday would be amazing.
In this bad moments is where a real fan sould show his love for Team. I love McLaren an Roll on for 2013.
Ever i said and i say Keep the Faith in Team.
Thanks mates!!

I wonder wheter or not McLaren will gamble at Q if they have pace this good on Mediums to start the race with these tires?! But knowing we`re talking about McLaren here the answer is no. Obviously.
If they can't find the pace on options overnight, it seems to me it would make a lot of sense to use primes in Q3.
Now that McLaren are effectively out of both titles, this would be a good time to experiment.

Agreed! They should at the very least split the strategies. Hammy on option and Button on primes for Q3. Especially considering a 1 stopper is deemed possible here.If they can't find the pace on options overnight, it seems to me it would make a lot of sense to use primes in Q3.

Also good point, canada springs to mind, although canada is weird with tyres, can't remember whether it took a couple of laps in Korea.
