If Raikkonen deserves a thread for a "I don't care" comment, Alonso surely deserves one for his post-race comments:

First he blames Raikkonen for him retiring, while he himself pushed Kimi off the track and then drove into his FW.

"I don't understand why Kimi didn't lift off or anything because there was not any room. I don't know what Kimi's idea was for the first corner"

Well Alonso, Kimi was on the outside and planning to stay there. What the hell was your idea? So yeah, you got Button on your right, that doesn't mean you drive the guy on your left off the track. Especially not you're the one whining about leaving space all the time only a few races ago.

Next, he talks down Massa's second place, which is a great and much needed result for him:

"it's a bit because of the coincidences in the race that Felipe is second. There are cars which are a lot faster making a mistake after another and that has helped Felipe."

Way to support your team(mate) Alonso!
Okay, the first corner helped Massa in moving forward, but it was pretty clear that he had the pace to drive where he was driving. He wasn't P2 after the first lap if I remember correctly, and ended up there withouth being threatenend at any point of the race! That shows the car was the second quickest car as neither Button in the McLaren, nor the Saubers or Kimi in the Lotus could do anything about it.

Sounds like Fernando is in big denial about throwing away a lot of easy points and his championship lead all by himself!


PS. Note that these comments are giving after having been able to reflect on the matter for 56 laps!

Hmm, I wonder if Alonso realizes that his actions and the fact that Kimi ran out of room have some sort of a correlation.

Nevertheless, a classic 1st lap incident, move on. Had it happened between, let's say DiResta and Rosberg, no one would give a damn.

Typical Alonso. He acts like if there were two sets of rules: those that applied to his rivals, and those that applied to himself.

He, just like Schumacher in his golden years, is used to have drivers being bullied by him, backing up just because he is around. When a driver doesn't get bullied (Vettel, Kimi to mention Alonso's two recent cases, JPM with Schumacher) crashes and "interesting moments" happen.

Alonso did the same in Monaco to Grosjean. Others crashed. About time for him to suffer from his own moves. Others have driven enough circles areound him.

I'm sure Kimi was thinking in the heat of moment to let Alonso take himself out of the race if he wants. Kimi has avoided hits from many drivers this season, but this was the moment to take calculated risk with championship positions in mind and not back off. He barely kept the car on track, brilliant car control!

Kimi was right next to him, and there was not any room? On watching the replays, I was surprised the way Alonso swerved dancing from one side to the other before coming near Kimi. I expected a tussle between Kimi and Alonso at the start, and I was wondering how cautious he may be given that Raikkonen may not be in a mood to give an inch as Alonso was the man he was determine to make up points against. But may be Alonso himself was thinking about Vettel and was planning to be as aggressive as possible.

Massa-Ferrari combo was genuinely faster than the McLarens today.

Errr. What race you were watching? Alonso did a "Grosjeanesque" weawing and forcing Kimi out of the track like Grosjean did to Hamilton in Spa.

Alonso should have given room to Kimi, that's all. Racing incident anyway, but there is no way Fred can blame Kimi on this.

I saw the one on the Spanish TV. The journalist asked him about the performance of the car, basically she said something along the lines of "the car was very competitive, Massa was second". Alonso replied that the car was not competitive given the qualy results, that Massa's position was due to a) people with faster cars making mistakes and b) Massa having driven a fantastic race and compensated for the car's shortfalls.

The funny thing is that the same people who trash Alonso for saying that Massa's position was partly due to luck are the ones who have been repeating for the whole season that Alonso's positions were due to luck.

He can talk down Massa's 2nd place all he wants, just makes him look stupid. It was a strong drive. Nobody else was close to beating him into 2nd.

I sometimes think Massa would be much better off going back to Sauber. He needs a better environment for his own mind set i think.

Yes, but one of the slices of bread was a good metre away, room for plenty of filling, Alonso reaped the "benefits" of what he sowed, it may have been a racing incident, but it was an avoidable one, It's Alonso's comments afterwards that show exactly what a cry baby he is, reminiscent of his fist waving at Petrov.

Kimi just stayed in the same place (outside) all the time. It's not his job to back off and give space to the guys that also want to drive on the outside.
It is his job to evaluate and decide what risk he wants to take with stupid moves of the other drivers. This time he held his foot firm, and rightfully so. Thank god he had a bit of luck on his side this time and it was the one making the stupid move to crash out.

Yes, Alonso says and admits that Massa drove a good race, but he also says Massa actually had no business being there in 2nd place and it was only because of the mistakes of others and that is not true.
