These dates seem a bit late, didn't the first launches usually come mid January? Then again the season ended so late I suppose it's only natural work is a little delayed.

I thought we were gonna have cars sooner. :(

I'm sure one or two of the smaller teams will release their challengers before the end of the month possibly. Didn't Caterham release theirs as one of the first last season?

I think Caterham was the first last year - that was on January 25.

the days of ferrari and mclaren racing for being the first to launch their car are gone, maybe the new trend was set by red bull (and brawn?) in 2009, with instead of being the first to show off with the new car, working on the baseline as long as they can. I think red bull did it to the extent of being absent from the first test on purpose, and launched their car nearly a month later than ferrari and mclaren? since then, most cars are launched in the week preceding the first test.

TOTALLY OFF-TOPIC ... but ....

"The 54-year-old designer admits the pressure of developing the RB8 up until the final race of the season, to ensure they secured the drivers' title with Sebastian Vettel...."

My gawd ... he's 54!? He looks 64 to me... I'm only 7 years shy of him... and most think I'm in my late 30's... Wowzer!

Im staying just of Las Ramblas in the city centre, its about a 40 min journey from there, public transport is meant to be good enough. Hotel was dirt cheap, basic as they come but no problem, Planning on making a holiday out of it, sample the local beer ;)

Anyone have that timing link from last season - Not the Williams one - but think it was from some Russian site... showed all the cars on one screen - every day - was pretty sharp...

Im going on the 18th, for the 1st test day in Barcelona on the 19th - third year of doing so...

The train takes 30 minutes from either Barcelona Sants station, or the Passaig de Gracia, and there are two per hour. From Montmelo station then its about a 20 minute walk. The closer you stay to either station the better as you will be leaving at about 8am.

Click where it says "Auch Red Bull nennt Präsentations-Termin". It's a short piece of news and there is no direct link. It says they got to know, the presentation will take place on January 28th in Enstone. :)

I'll be there for the Saturday and Sunday of the final test at Barcelona with my son - it'll make it three years on a row for us. I love the relaxed atmosphere, the chance to watch from all round the track, and the entry price! We're staying in a Eurostars hotel about a 10 minute drive from the track as we did in 2011 - too late to book the Montmelo hotel we stayed in last year.

It's going to be interesting this year - he's a 12 year old Lewis fan, whereas my loyalties lie with McLaren...

Sauber, hopefully. Marussia, probably. All the others will likely have just minor changes.

Lotus have been rumoured to have a new title sponsor. Whether that impacts on livery remains to be seen.
