Drivers and Teams You Support

You can pick as many as you like, though remember all your picks are voted the same equally of course.
The idea is simply the driver(s) and team(s) you hope will do well against the others each race.
Vote (unless you're neutral) then we can discuss .

Okay, other than that I like Kimi, Felipe and Nico Hulkenberg. Used to like Alonso (but not so much now), Jaime (miss you!), Kamui (miss you too!) and Vitaly (miss you the most! especially with Sochi coming up ). I might come to like Nico Rosberg (LOVED his Bayern Munich tweets! ), Grosjean and Maldonado.
As for teams, I still support Ferrari (I can't stand Domenicali though ), like Lotus GP, Red Bull (go Christian and Adrian!) and Toro Rosso (I miss Gerhard though). I also occasionally cheer for Sauber and Marussia when I'm bored.

Oh, and Maldonado, Bottas and Sutil as well!

Agree. They are special, although I don't support them as much as I used to anymore. The most special team is Ferrari, maybe I don't support them always, but they stand out and make the 'sport' special.

I know it is early, but it is funny that Vettel is leading with Raikkonen as a close second, not the result you expected, right, undersquare?

No it's not what I was expecting . It's cool though, if lots of people like him more than I do. But a lot more votes to come...

I think the % numbers in parantheses are misleading. For example, so far 15 out of 37 people have liked Vettel, that is 40% liking.
How is it misleading?

Because every participant has several votes and it is not possible to vote more than once for a driver. As a consequence the sum of votes is higher than the number of participants in the poll. In order to determine the percentage of users that voted for a driver you have to look at the relation between the actual votes (for each driver) and the number of participants.

I don't support a team, voted Mercedes.
It seems one dimensional and there are other drivers I like to see do well (Grosjean because of his perpetual smile, Hulkenberg because of his calm) but when the lights go out I really don't care what else is happening as long as Hamilton makes it through the first corner unscathed.

Until then its Raikkonen & Lotus and Hulkenberg because I really want to see him succeed.

Oh I see. Well either of the metrics works doesn't it, in terms of giving us a rank order, whether it's 40% of members or 12% of votes cast.

I've always supported McLaren, but not as strongly now, after Hamilton left, but I still cheer for them.
Also support Red Bull, Lotus and AMG Mercedes, and have a soft spot for Williams, as I think atleast 50% of F1-fans do.

Kimi fans tend to support Vettel and vice versa. Probably because they are friends. I wouldn't say the result is that much a surprise as Kimi tends to head these polls. Last time it was done and people could only vote for one favourite Vettel didn't feature as highly, so he seems to generally be Kimi fans second choice.

No particular favourites in GT--they all have their own quirks that make them fun to watch. The Corvettes, 458s, and 911s all sound awesome.
The Audis are always fun to watch, too, even if they're practically in their own class these days.

Yes I remember a lot of Kimi fans said that in a Favourites poll last year, so I did one in this format and Vettel did indeed do much better. Seems weird to me I gotta say because I really like Kimi and dislike Sebi, I don't see any similarity; in fact I'd say they're much more opposite than similar.

- Vettel's popularity has increased a lot from last year.
- Hamilton and Alonso are still about the same.
- Raikkonen's still the most popular driver
- Rosberg's popularity has also increased a lot
- Button's support has decreased quite a bit.

I think they share a lot of the same fundamentals but the way they express themselves couldn´t really be more different. They both really appreciate honesty (no BS like they say) and are quite down to earth (or at least try to be). I think they also have no problem racing fairly and don´t need the number 1 status. Seb also seems to admire some of Kimi´s qualities; how Kimi does what he thinks is best for him without worrying how that might affect how people view him.
In interviews Kimi gives simple factual often short answers whereas Seb just... well he talks a lot (personally that´s pretty much the only thing about him that annoys me.. I just don´t seem to have the patience for his ramblings ). On the other hand Seb also smiles more and generally seems more media friendly (a bit more open and less reserved). They often say pretty much the same thing (think similarly) they just say it in a different way. Other than their talkativeness and approach to media&fans I don´t think they´re that different. Certainly not the opposite to each other.
How do you think they´re more opposite than similar?

so the drivers:
Vettel is the one I cheer for most cause I feel I can relate to him the most, in some way he reminds me of myself sometimes. I am really bad at loosing as well, when I was little and played a tabletop game with my parents, when I was loosing I threw the whole thing off the table. So I feel like I can understand Seb even in that regard. He also is very funny, which I wish I was too... AND he seems to have been Pokémon-Fan!!!!! My generation is awesome
Hülkenberg is a real amazing driver, the performance he gets out of the C32 is awesome. I wish him to join one of the top teams as soon as possible, hope he is a future WDC.
Gutierrez as the second Sauber driver is perhaps not as amazing in it as Nico, but he seems to be a nice guy..... and he got that puppy look, how could I dislike him?
Di Resta, say what you want but I like the guy, I also would like to see him competing with Seb again in a top team car, however top team places are limited, so possibly won't happen.
Sutil seems to be a real nice guy, what happened with Lux was a tragedy but I assume it was a kneejerk reaction, that nearly destroyed his whole career, I'm glad he is back and he seems to be doing quite well...
Grosjean, I just want him to do better than last year and to prove everyone whats in him. He won the RoC and he smiled even more than normally... wanna see that smile in F1 as well...
Button seems to be a general nice guy, I like nice guys so yeah am cheering for him. Of the 30+ drivers he is definitly my favorite together with...
Massa, who I just want to do better than Alonso
Favorite teams
Sauber is my number 1 favorite team I like the interaction they have with their fans online and the stuff they upload on their youtube channel. I also was really impressed, that of the teams that launched their car live on youtube Sauber was the only team that made sure that Germany will be able to see their stream as well. The answered and retweeted me on twitter too
RBR, they seem just like nice guys and they answered me on twitter as well to a silly answer about ghosts in a tunnel, so GO GO GO
and third
Force India, who I like a lot since when I started F1 the only team for me was Jordan with their yellow cars... it's nostalgia there... but yeah I really like them ... and they answered me on twitter as well !
and maybe I should add Lotus to the list cause they answered me on twitter too...

I don't see Vettel as that honest, for one thing: Suzuka 2011 for example when he claimed he didn't see JB but we saw him looking, or just now when he said he 'didn't do it deliberately', hadn't understood Multi21 when we knew he understood Multi12, and thought Webber deserved the race then he didn't. His truth depends on expediency.
Kimi doesn't need that. For example when he didn't want to support Massa in 2008 he just openly refused until Luca made him the right offer.
Kimi races 100% clean while Sebi does that dodgy little sideways jink sometimes (Austin last year), that's also pretty dangerous.
And Kimi is himself always, whiile Sebi has the jokey kid car-naming persona that hides a deep arrogance as we saw here when he thought the TV wasn't on him. Kimi might push a photographer but he's straightforward about it; he would never behave like that.
So I do see them as quite opposite. It's quite mysterious to me why some fans who appreciate Kimi's qualities of honesty and being so geniune also like Sebi whom I see as quite false - false because he knows how unattractive his deeper character is.

Sin, maybe list would be shorter if you tell us whom you don't like. :p
Alonso & Webber, but I don't really hate them either I just think they seem not as nice as the others :o....
and I extra made a long list cause I was bored and had nothing better to do ;)
and I dont see where that video undersquare posted makes Seb seem arrogant, I hear Eddie Jordan calling him arrogant , while I only see him agitated

I still don´t really know how I feel about the whole Multi21 incident, mainly I just feel everyone was in the wrong that day and they should have handled it better. I also think Seb tried to be honest and do what he thought was right perhaps didn´t succeed that well but he´s still young and only human. But since the incident has already been discussed to death I won´t get more into it... What do you think of Kimi´s comments of Sebastian then? Is he lying or just doesn´t know him as well as we obviously do?

Yeah , I almost forgot about the car-naming which is just pretty silly IMO and I think you´re reading too much into it if you think it´s because of a deep arrogance. And yes he might be a bit arrogant but a lot of racing drivers are (if not all) maybe they just don´t show it as much.
So I do see them as quite opposite. It's quite mysterious to me why some fans who appreciate Kimi's qualities of honesty and being so geniune also like Sebi whom I see as quite false - false because he knows how unattractive his deeper character is.
That´s a bit much don´t you think? I really don´t know how you´ve come to the conclusion that even Seb himself knows what a horrible character he has. I don´t really know how to explain it but at least to me he seems pretty genuine.
