Frank,
Was that Tony Brise getting a lift from Brian Redman? I was at that race in '75 and I'll be there again this weekend (rain or shine!).

Marsh-GM British Championship hill-climb car with Tony Marsh driving - making a Suncrush orange juice commercial! I just liked the bondage aspect, I suppose, plus the eiderdown round the bum as a crushable structure...

If you are stupid enough to be tied to a racing car do you realy need a crash helmet?

I think it was Jody Scheckter getting the lift. Other photos from the same location show Brise in red as he clambers over the tire barrier and is a focal point as he strides across the pit lane from his Turn 12 de-carring:

I envy you the Long Beach experience, rain or shine. I missed my opportunity to sign on as a worker again this year. Wait 'til next year . . .

Reminds me of something I have read recently about a Jim Clark photo where he appears to be singing, whereas in reality he was mouthing at the photographer to remove his foot from the racing line.

But he was Australian Hillclimb Champion at least one year in the sixties, seventies, eighties and nineties... and he's going for the 2000s, I suspect.
