Paul Michaels is the owner of Hexagon of Highgate who ran a Brabham in Formula 1 as well as Nick Faure in an ex-Ecurie Ecosse D type.

According to Hexagon's website "Hexagon of Highgate" was established in 1963 by Paul Michaels which means he then was just 18 (if the birth date given by the BRDC [19 May 1945] is correct).

Yes that's the Morin Scott transporter I remember. There were a number of cars that were nominally part of the "team" and as I wrote above the Martini name was later used. I think David McK is getting confused by the name of the company which was Martini & Rossi and sponsored various motor sport participation under that full name.
The car in the forground has nothing to do with Scott, being the ex-Hawkes Derby-Maserati. I was present at a 1960s VSCC Oulton Park race meeting when it won for the first (and probably only) time in the hands of Tony Ellis and the photo may well have been at that meeting

As Jean L said in the Transporters thread, the event is very likely the BARC 200 meeting run at Aintree in April 1960. The photo shows two Lotus 18s wearing #3, one of which is a Formula Junior (non-crossflow engine). The Aintree event is the only one I can find which fits. At this event Jim Clark drove #3 in the F2 race and Peter Arundell drove #3 in the F Junior race. The nose section wearing #1 is either from Innes Ireland's car in the F2 race or Jim Clark's in the FJ race.

I think that the car with number 1 is Jim Clark's Junior. Ireland's car didn't have a nose band.

I would say that the Jim Wright on the list is probably the former Head of Marketing at Willies.

Jimbo was there for a good ten years, prior to which he was in F3 - maybe with Dave Price.

I suggested Hans Geier (for the burly bloke at Dijon '74) yesterday, and I'm now pretty certain it's him. No idea still about the guy in shades, but I'm sure someone here will know him.

Brilliant, cheers Tim. Kling and von Braushitsch were mentioned for the chap who you suspect is Geier, but I wasn't overally convinced - they had more hair than that and I couldn't see Lang and MvB relaxing so easily together. I'm also hopeful somebody will identify the chap on the back row on the extreme left too. Looks familiar, but I can't think who.

I think the chap on the very left of the Ancien Pilotes reunion is Charles Pozzi?. With it being in Dijon, and with him sponsoring the Ferrari's in the 1970's, it seems a decent guess, but that's only a guess. It's mainly the chap in shades that perplexes me.

Pozzi was certainly there - according to the report by Paul Frère in Motor he drove Rob Walker's Delahaye in the parade.

Thanks Tim - I've been reading about the event, and thinking, with all those names there, how good it would be to see a photo of all of them - Taruffi, Stewart, Etancelin, Bira etc. all there.

Anyway, after checking the picture here of Carlos Ghys's picture of Charles - Pozzi, I'm pretty confident CP is the man on the left.

Sorry but Hugus did not win Le Mans... If he drove "officially", the car would be DQ according to 1965 regulation....

Quite so. Seriously though, I've had this conversation with others on another website forum, and I know what the rules were at the time. So why does Janos Wimpffen show Hugus as a winning driver? The huge work by JW is generally regarded as "the bible" and infallible, and he has a code to show which drivers were nominated to drive, and another for those who were nominated reserves. Was it a typing error? Or have the ACO kindly rescinded and back-dated the results? Shall we ever know?

Can anyone identify (what a silly question here!) the silver car on the right.

It's on a birthday card sent to me by a pal who owns a Speed Six Bentley. he identifies the car on the left as a 1923-24 3 litre Bentley (' Home Guard on the radiator as in later models' he says - what's a home guard?) but adds 'I have no idea what the silver machine is.

The picutre carries on the reverse the title 'Racing Legends' by Johnny Jonas, but that artist's website does not help, nor does any amount of Googling.

Yet the silver car is familiar: have I seen it at Goodwood? Is it a (the?) Napier-Railton?
