HI,
Pete Vack (of http://velocetoday.com/) and I are looking for
information on the 1956(?) Osca #1176 Morelli Coupe Ex Simpson.
It was delivered to Jim Simpson (of the Chicago area) in 1956
with a one off Coupe body by Morelli and shortly thereafter crashed.
It was then fitted with a unique Devin Monza body. We're looking
for pictures of the original Coupe body. The car is in Europe and
awaiting restoration.....I know it's a long shot but can anyone
help?? The following is a link to my Devin page that shows the car
in its current form:

Thanks!

not to divert the subject, but does anyone have any information on the enigmatic jim simpson?
seems that for a mid west farmer - i have seen that referance pop up - he had an interesting taste in sports/racing cars in particular OSCAs.
he had a few as well as was behind the OSCA land speed record car. this is as far as i can get... can anyone help with color info details etc...

Isn't this the same Simpson that currently owns the Nardi Blue Ray and modern version of it that he created in the 1980s?

From a bio article in the Lancia Club magazine, Jim Simpson (the one who owns the Nardi Blue Rays) says he was in high school in 1970, which would make him approximately my age (55), born around 1952. So he is NOT the same Jim Simpson who raced OSCA's. The previous owner of the Blue Ray was a man named Bill Simpson, no relation to the current Blue Ray owner.

from an in-period picture i have seen of mr simpson he was about mid-late 40's during the mid 50's... so unlikely.
as he happend to be involved with an abnormal number of exotic italian cars during a very short period, given that nothing much is known/writen about him is curious
