By that I mean, are there any good model shops in Nice?

We will be mooching around the town on Thursday and I am a sucker for a nice model.....

I think we all are.

I presume you are going to the Monaco Historique Barry.

If so I cannot comment on Nice but there is a reasonable if Ferrari biased model shop (that also sells other ephemera) on one of the streets in the main part of town to the north of the harbour. Sorry can't do better than that as I don't have a Monte Carlo street map to hand.

There is also a harbour side shop in the Port de Fontvieille whose website is monalisamotorsport.com and e-mail monalisa@monte-carlo.mc that deals in more expensive stuff (helmets, bits of old F1 bodywork, books etc.)

Meanwhile hope you enjoy the racing, and by the way Saturday's weather forecast is suggesting some wet stuff, I wonder how Stuck will cope with the Auto Union.

I think the Ferrari memorabilia shop is on Place d'Armes. But it's been about 8 years since I was last in Monaco and 12 since I was there for the GP so this might be wrong!

I checked the AUTOMODELISME model shop list, nothing for Niece .

sorry.

Barry: you fortunate turf: some nice pix coming, I hope, both of the racing and of any mouth-watering acquisitions.

Good luck.

Somehow I don't think googling for "Nice + model" would give you the answer you want stoned.gif

Just tried that: amazing! I knew, of course, that Japan produces quite a few - but had no idea that so many came from Russia and France...

Not much in the historic line, though, I notice. eek.gif

Gosh, Barry. Good job you didn't receive this before you left, otherwise you would never have got to Monaco to see any racing!

PS Did you find any model bargains?
Barry Boor
No time to look for anything, Alan, other than parking spaces!

Oops! I didn't realise you would have needed that list earlier. Sorry
OTOH thursday was a holiday in France (VE Day commemoration) so I doubt any of these shops would have been open anyway...

Hi, all-along these same lines-I will be visiting Paris and Magny Cours for the GP. Any model shops I should see in either place?
Thanks-
