Will be going for August testing. Flying in to Milan. Have been to many F1 tests but this will be my first time for Monza, so pretty excited, but a few practical questions.

1. Transport: I know there's trains from Milan to Monza, all fine and dandy, but how to get from Monza station to the track on a non-race day? The Italian language-only transport site makes it 'challenging' to find out about buses etc.

2. What is track access like with testing, do they cram them all in one grandstand, like many tracks during tests, or can you freely roam around the track?

Thanks for any replies and any other tips or hints. smile.gif

There are buses from Monza station which will drop you off at Vedano entrance. Everyone is F1 mad in Monza so just tell the driver you want Porta Vedano, Autodromo.

Buy your tickets from bars or cafes before you get on the bus.

I've not been to testing so can't help you with access to the circuit.

The test should be in September not August. It's the week before the Italian GP.

PS I'm very jealous.

Have fun!

It is usually, but this year it's from 27-29 August:

And thanks F1Annie for the info up.gif

I know my info is old. I was at a test in 2001. You could go anywhere you like. It was excellent. I even went up on the old banking during the lunch break. Very few places on earth ooze motorsports history quiet like Monza.

Thanks pkenny, hopefully the situation is still the same as I would like to be able to go up to the old banking as well.
