'The Triumph Marque' - Raymond Baxter on TR2 & 3s and Herald debut, a review of Triumph's achievements between 1953 and 1960 on snowy Alpine rallies, Jabbeke, and Le mans 1955 - 60 in colour.

'1977 Tour de Corse' - BL colour film from Corsica with Brian Culcheth's Leyland Cars TR7 with 4 works Stratos and 6 factory Fiat Abarths 2 works MK 2 Escorts commentary from Dickie Davies

'1951 Bridgehampton' Long Island with MG TCs & Allards
'1961 German GP' Moss wins in the Walker Lotus
'1967 Daytona 24hrs 2547 miles with Ferrari P4 taking first three places

'Austin Rover wins again ' - 1982 colour account of the Rover SD1 V8 racing and Rallying with Davenport , Allam, Pond, Vince Woodman and David Wood and Metro racing with Taft,Longman, Curnow and Soper.

- and we hear that Doug's prized SD1 road car was sold to a passing Gipsy for £70 without his knowledge !! .. I really do think we ought to be told more about this episode , Doug ?


'Go Go Go !' - (well that's the English translation ! ) Colour Swedish film 1968 Minis racing on ice and at the extraordinary Danish Roskildering an incredible curly and steeply cambered switchback once a F1 circuit but shaped more like a motocross track with tarmac ! 1968 Minis , MK 1 Lotus Cortinas and more.


'The Club 57 ' - (part 1) British Racing and Sportscar Club annual film in B&W ,seasonal round up , commentary by Maxwell Boyd and Neville Lloyd with a range of club races lots of paddock shots and many well known people and a very professional film , lovely atmospheric behind the scenes shots.

This is just brilliant , great picture quality , fantastic camera work with an 'on board' cine camera certainly 16mm might even be 35mm B & W mounted on a Austin Healey from Brands Hatch and 500s from Crystal Palace in 1957 .
How delightful it was then, clearly in the intervening 50 years of property development is another word for ruination of circuits, really fabulous picture of racing there half a century ago. A big crowd , club racing was clearly a great day out for all in those days.
Well worth the price of the DVD for this film alone !

Another most enjoyable collection, as ever David Weguelin's skill in producing great picture quality and a highly polished professional production . Does make you wonder where D&W keep finding all this great material ! .... recommended .

The old rumbler is long gone - but she carried these two gracefully for many, many miles. The little 'erbert with the bowl cut is today a bus driver (of the A319-A321 variety) while big sis is a happily-married mum of two with a third on the way.

And by the way - 1971 Tour de Corse as printed on the front cover appears to be one of our first major screw-ups. I read the proof as 1977. Oh great. You have made my baluddy day...

Now we need to know more about that fine looking D-type with it's young 'pilot' !

You would have thought I would have noticed that '71/'77 date before typing it !

Incidentally well worth checking the www.motorfilms.com website especially in the Marque section where there are some real bargains , archive films of an hour or more for only £4.99 !

Also some of the earlier editions of Motor Films Quarterly are still for sale on VHS while stocks last at only £4.99 instead of the usual price of £19.99, so you can fill in your collection ,that is a real bargain, each one is 90 mins of great films.

Also if you pay in advance for a year's worth of forthcoming MQF editions there is a discount package.

We are lucky Doug and Weg continue to produce a new one of these film collections every 3 months , otherwise there would be no opportunity to see and own these rare and hidden motor sport films made over the last 100 years. I have no connection with it whatsoever , but the more people who buy them, and better, still become an ongoing subscriber , the more they will be encouraged to continue , what I do know is that the costs involved in making and selling low volume motor racing films is such that it is a labour of love and not a money making exercise and if we all want it to keep going then we need to support it.
