I love photographs, they take us back to another time. Enzo & GIlles are long gone from us, but here they are laughing with a bottle of wine. Clearly enjoying themselves. This one's a treasure.

that's correct after qualifying Suzuka 1998, only race Schumacher wore that helmet.

The last great F1 year imo. 2 great drivers fighting for the title, nice looking cars, tyres war, true F1 engines, not much downforce and electronics, cool schedule with classic tracks layouts.

Why are so many posts on this thread blank?

That's a photoshop job, the airborn moment at Flugplatz is too brief to get 2 cars in the air at once, unless they're side by side (which would be suicidal in that era at that part of the track). Also, look at the shadow and track surface. Not a very well doctored photo...

Benson & Hedges is brand of cigarettes. In 2002 team weren't allowed to have cigarette-related stickers on the cars in France and USA. If you check USA weekend you would see "be on edge" on Jordans.

Be on edge was probably the most clever alibi marketing of the entire tobacco epoch. As soon as you saw it you wondered why it took them so many years to come up with.

Actually let me take that back. It might be Kyalami (or somewhere else perhaps), but on first glimpse it looked like they were turning into the corner currently known as Surtees. But the grandstand in the background on the mainstraight is too big, and it looks like an awfully dry climate on the inside of the corner they are approaching.
