IIRC Joey's F1 championship was at stake, that's the reason the race was run. Klaus' bike aquaplaned and he went off the track and hit a tree.

We were petty good mates. He had the basic's of a Factory XR35 Engine and I made up the other bits from odds and ends arond the workshop at SGB redface.gif . The only thing he couldnt get was crankshafts and had them made in Germany. He came over home to Reading on occasions and was one of the nicest people you could meet

I had been working for a teammate of his that year and had left the team and went to the Ulster for a look around. Met Klaus who on hearing of my availabilty convinced me to work for him for the rest of the year and the following year. We were off to Sugo after Dundrod. Made a deal and agreed to work out the details after the race... cry.gif Great guy. Needless to say I have never been to Sugo.

Traffic Jam.

This one is Phil Usher RG500. I noticed it blew half way down the straight at Donington and it was almost certain what would happen as he turned in for Redgate. Part of a sequence where a couple of others like including Phil Henderson also dropped it on the oil left by Ushers bike. No one seriously hurt fortunately.

Looks like my compatriot Bernard is in sort of trouble with all those Britons trying to run him over, for having dared to come and play in their Mallory backgarden tongue.gif

edit : actually, I'm wondering if #37 wouldn't be another french regular on british short circuits, Christian Dubuisson with his trademark orange Premier helmet . Not sure, though...

Some serious company there Jeff. I count 4 world champions behind you in that pic. Mang, Ekerold, Cecotto and Carlos Lavado. eek.gif Not sure who the 36? is, but Patrick Fernandez also in the mix, and he was a fine foot soldier as well. clap.gif
