Mmmmmmmmm tell us more up.gif biggrin.gif

Ahaaa....one of his sponsors is looking to put him out on one (as he's more comfortable on a 2-stroke than anything else) and he went to look at one in the paddock yesterday....be good to see how he gets on!

They are getting bloody expensive now though...If I had the dosh I'd ride one next year too. (and its sickening to think that my uncle sold one for £400 in 1989!!!!)

I would worry about riding in the Classic club though...I was watching the post classic race through my fingers when Gourlay and Hall were threading their way throught the backmarkers....the top 10 in that race are good club/national riders and they caught the slower riders in 3 laps!!! not just 1 or 2 riders either...sodding great bunches of them!

its that sort of thing I have nightmares about!

http://www.lcracing.co.uk/small_page.php?i...=gallery_viewer

have a look at that link to see what i mean! (i'm in black #63 and I clipped the backmarker who couldn't make his mind up where to turn and went straight on.....put the fear of death into me!)

Sadly not, when the parades are on I usually go and do something else (no offense to the guys who parade blush.gif ) We looked for the Howard Lees bikes in the paddock, but could not find them confused.gif They might of been in a pit garage? and if I saw them when there earlier, coz they were "modern" bikes, I would not of given them a second glance, didn't realize Steve was riding one as I did not have MY prog with me, and when we did see Steve's name we were on the inside at Druids!! Nigel! up.gif

Morning Graham, no it wasn't that early, the clocks went forward last weekend here.

Does anyone know who made the chassis for the Cotton, looks a bit like a Maxton swing arm?

Did you guys meet up with the Exactweld guys? if so who was there?

I Don't know the name, Barry Neal.
The People I rememeber were Guy (Pearson?) who used to be one of the owners, then the riders i remember were; Jimmy Webb, Gary Noel, Steve Coker, Dave Wilson and Sean Emmett. Did someone say that Mick Robinson was involved with these guys now?

Yes we were there, couldn't really miss us actually! Although to be fair the bikes were inside the tents most of Sunday! I will get a pic dropped in later.
Saturday morning was fine & dry & luckily I got the keys for the RC30. The 1st "Parade" was interesting as you can imagine with the speed difference. Soon got back into it with a couple of laps to learn the New Graham Hill bend, which is OK (but still prefer the faster version).
Having got my leg over again after 18yrs wink.gif it reminded me how easy the RC30 is to ride, & ride fast. The power delivery is extremely smooth & you really feel part of the machine (a bit like riding a 916).
Talk about putting a smile on my face, like a cheshire cat actually. biggrin.gif
I will get pics posted later.
Sunday was a bit of a washout but the team did both parades plus a Special Team only 3 lap dash!

Great fun. clap.gif

Not quite a WWW but you may like to have a go!

Cheshire cat is good Steve up.gif I dare say you probably had a few other "deja vu" moments too?
In times passed, it happened & possibly never thought about much, because it just seemed normal.

Edgar (?) Bruylant, a Belgian rider on a Sarolea outfit, went off and was fatally injured, as was his passenger whose name I do not have.

Giuseppe Prati, riding a Guzzi, rolled it in avoidance and broke an arm - his (anonymous) passenger suffered minor injuries.

I have no record of any other big accident at this meeting.

Incidentally, this sidecar race was the one where Eric Oliver had a breakage of a fuel banjo union on his Norton on Lap 1 - Denis Jenkinson, passengering in what was to be their World Championship year, did his little Dutch boy act and held the union together for the whole race.

In spite of DSJ having to "stay in" for the whole race, and not working at all, they won by 25 seconds from Franz Vanderschrick (Norton) with Ernesto Merlo on a factory Gilera third.

GREAT!!!! Thank you larryd.
