Where are we ? Well, since you ask, I'll start ! I admit that the reason I post less those days is that I'm currently on a borrowed computer far, far away from my usual french countryside, way out in a remote remnant of the french colonial empire in the South Pacific called New-Caledonia , an island roughly 2000 kms east of Australia, and 3000 kms north of New Zealand . So by Pacific Ocean standards, I'm finding myself rather close to our "down under" bunch of members - although it's still a rather long swimm . And it looks like I'm going to stay there, having found a job during what was supposed to be only a vacation, after having been fired from my previous job in France in early september ....

Too bad dear old Bazza has left us, I would have loved to go and see him again in his Gold Coast home - but when I next am in OZ I may well try to have a few beers with our former champions around there , whom I haven't seen since...1976 ( Stu ? ) or 1979 ( Jeff, Murray ? ) - and when I say "seen" , that was from the Le Mans spectators enclosure of course blush.gif

Sorry for the personal rant, but .... you asked for it

Yeah, dads doing good thanks Mick, he's retired now, but spends his time restoring TZs for either himself or others. This is his latest 350 'special' !

The last time I saw you to speak to would have been around 1990 I would think, propably a Bemsee meeting.

ex Rhodie racer
LamboNZ, that looks like a nice piece of kit. Any details of the frame (who constructed it and when) as well as who rode it in it´s day and with how much success?
exclubracer
The frame looks Spondon-ish, the swinging arm looks a fair old length though ??
Macca
Looks not unlike this one, seen at Wroughton in about 1988:

It is a Spondon frame as exclubracer said and Macca alluded to, but the swingarm is from an R6 Yam. Not sure about the forks may have been RGV. The bike is a bit of an E-bay special .
Don't know any of the history of any of it though unfortunately.

Hi Paul, looks like Mike Hatherill fetling the bike?, and is it Mark Farmer (The Trowbridge one) who's bike it is.

Do you have any more North Glos pics? would be great to see some.

Hi to everyone, I've been away for a while working offshore in the Gulf, was working with Stephen Harvey, nephew of ex-British Champion Jim Harvey. Nice to work with a fellow enthusiast, Steve raced a classic Norton and a TZ so I pointed him in the direction of the forum, hopefully he'll come on and chat at some point.

ATB.

Gidday all..Ive just been in NZ and went to a club day at Ruapuna for a poke about.. thats what I call fun...all sorts from Rc30's to Suzuki 100's..they were all having a ball. I haven been there since 1978 so its not surprising that no one said hello..worked out fine , There is some good old shit running about in NZ including a young lass on a Yamaha R1 which I must admit seemed to shine out due to her exceptional build quality.. its bloody cold ther thou, back to sunny Sydney..sighhhhh

PS..if you are ever in Sydney I would love to get together for a pint and a chat!!

Hi Croz I have that book, brilliant it is, I bought it new, we have spoken about it before on the now closed GIANT thread, it covers the 1972 &1973 Grand Prix seasons, I am sure that the edition we have was the only one ever published, which is a shame, but as usual I stand to be corrected!? tongue.gif wave.gif

PS. Saarinen is actually on the then new 500-4 Yamaha
