Chas Mortimer?
ravenous25
there was a feature on Andy in Road Racing Ireland a couple of years ago though can't for life of me remember what it said he was doing - he never did get full use in his arm after the Mallory crash in '86 but all was well and good with him

English rider - Chas Mortimer?

Graham

Probably wrong forum for CD as he raced until 1976. Did a few GPs. Has a similar first name to CM. In fact it is the same if full name is used. Don't really know him but discovered he lives nearby. Best result 6th Yugoslavia 500cc 1972?

Correct again on all counts!

Kerrowmar: I think the rider that was neck and neck with Andy was me! (Donnie McLeod). Got a bit of stick for this, as some thought I had hit Andy as I nipped up the inside. Anyone know hat Andy is up to now? He was very fast - nearly won British 250 GP in 84?

Hi Supercomp.

This forum never ceases to amaze me,that incident was a very long time ago and I can still see it now. Great to hear the riders thoughts of the time.

Your reputation is still intact as Im sure there was no contact.(We all know Clearways can bite back especially on the last lap) That was a great days racing with a paddock full of RGs and TZs and I think Andy was on an EMC that day.

Happy Xmas to all

Excellent ! Charlie went on for years after he retired from GPs in classic racing, including down here in the Hebrides, and was always smooth and quick ! A good soldier., with an impressive record. clap.gif

How many pages back was the photo Neil? Both Duffus & Lofthouse were sponsored by Sharples, so the top front of the helmets looked the same

He's going for a gallop in the Sydney-Hobart on Boxing Day, for the first time. Of course, we'll be locked into the cricket from the MCG, but in a coincidence of good timing, the Sydney-Hobart starts as the cricketers break for lunch on day 1. Excellent !

You're an England supporter, like many NZ ers ?

That, son, will be the day ! However, can't deny their homework and hard yakka has made them into one formidable outfit. Tremlett, in for the injured Broad, has been find of the summer for me. Timing, as usual, is everything, and for them to pounce while Australia's flagging must be the stuff dreams are made of, not just for the squad but all their loyal supporters. Hats off, and I have a wager of a carton per test with a pom at work, so the attention has been up...
However, I'd paid the subscription to watch the internet broadcast of the Boxing Day Wanganui roadrace, with a view to watching that, keeping an eye on the test from the MCG, and knocking off a few cold ones on the 38 degree day....as it happened, the power went off at 7am, didn't come back on till after 7pm, so no Wanganui, no MCG test, no aircon, and a fridge of diminishing effect, grrrrr... rolleyes.gif
Luckily I had a pal on a camera at the flowerbed corner at Wanganui texting me results, seems John Woodley finished 8th in the Bears on the MV.
