I see Lambourne junior is on here, I new your Dad quite well Nigel, hope he's well we both had some help at the same time from Graham??(can't remember his surname) who owned GP accesories a fibreglass firm.

Martin

Hi Martin, excuse my ignorance, but I don't know your surname. Yeah dad and Tony Mellish had help from Graham Pouard for a number of years (quite handy being a fibreglass supplier, with the Lambourne crashing trend!)
Dad comes on here very occasionally, but is a bit of a techno-phobe. He spends most of his time restoring TZs now. You can PM him if you like through here (Lenny L)

Or if like me you have nightmares about changing tyres on them!!! I did a most enjoyable stint at D.A.R.T, Tom Walkinshaws set up. Spent alot off this time with my mate Phil Platter and the worst thing you could ever do was put a steel tyre lever between a tyre and an Astralite. We made alloy flat levers that were softer than the Astra"s. At Thruxton one year it was so cold they salted the track. The tyres were so bloody hard I kinda gave up..Phil took over, bless him. Always prefered Campagnola's since then......

I'm guessing Lydden, from the banks of soil, around 1974. Complete guess with the rider Kevin Richards?

No guys, way off line...he is mentioned often on here, and neither tracks are right. ambivalent.gif

OK, lets see now. A fairly big fella and I would guess a bit after ´74, say, ´76 or even ´77 maybe on account of the cantalever suspension and twin discs, although the frame looks like a Maxton or something similar.
The circuit´s got me though. Sand dunes? Mmmmm .......No idea. Sorry. frown.gif

wave.gif Clive was a class act, TT winner and GP rostrums, he rode the factory Morbidellis IIRC up.gif

Last I heard of him he was doing the ACU seminars for new race licence applicants, together with Steve Sawford.

Was always one of the front runners at Donnington too IIRC.

ex Rhodie racer
Jeff, what were those Armstrongs like? They looked like mouth watering bits of kit, and bloody fast as well, even if they were a bit finikie I think. I recall Steve Tonkin winning the junior in the IOM around 81/82, so they must have been pretty handy. Mind you, Tonks was no slouch, especially on the Island.

Licence seminar ....... what's that ?

wave.gif Russell, I think it's something that first time novice racing licence applicants now have to go through if they don't have a road bike licence, an instruction course or similar. If I'm not exactly correct with this I am ready to be corrected. As per my previous post, I heard a couple of years ago that Clive was involved, with Steve Sawford also IIRC.
