If you were a manufacturer and running in both MotoGP and WSB you would have to think very carefully about which series you continued to support. I know which I would do. WSB. As a manufacturer you already make the bike, it's production based, not a one off. You probably get more sales from WSB than MotoGP anyway. Now apply this logic to all teams in MotoGP/WSB, WSB/AMA, BSB/Superstock, etc, etc.
Makes you wonder what will happen to 125's/250's. After all you can continue to run cheap strokers or change to a new bike with a "diesel", my name for a 4 stroke, production engine. At least they are cheaper than the strokers anyway.

Little Johnny's at it again..... A new teacher was trying to make use of
Her psychology courses. She started her class by saying, 'Everyone who
Thinks they're stupid, stand up!' After a few seconds, Little Johnny
Stood up. The teacher said, 'Do you think you're stupid, Little Johnny?'
'No, ma'am, but I hate to see you standing there all by yourself!'
Merry Christmas
The math teacher saw that little Johnny wasn't paying attention in
Class. She called on him and said,
'Johnny! What are 2 and 4 and 28 and 44?' Little Johnny quickly replied,
'NBC, FOX, ESPN and the Cartoon Network!'
Happy New Year

Why so much lockwire?.......Never seen a TZ gearbox cap unscrew by itself!!
Jarno...interesting you should pick up on that...Under current ACU rules, the gearbox filler cap is the only thing in this photo that MUST be lockwired. anything that holds back a fluid must be lockwired.
All the other lockwiring looks pretty trick though...

Strange that, my pressies are all media related, books, dvds, cds on travel and motorsport and music, just what a young lad wants, only downside is, Senior Management received "Mamma Mia" on Dvd, I am now trying desparately to conjure up an excuse not to watch it with her...........
I am amazed there are no typos in this post

Sure Don, it's from sept. 1979, national championship race on a roadcircuit near Gilze-Reijen the Netherlands, one of my last races.
I build this bike with money from my supportersclub, Nico Bakker frame with Kreidler GP engine.
Campagnolo magnesium wheels with Zanzani coated aluminium floating rotors and Brembo calipers.

Hello, I made a mistake somewhere, so this message is doubled somewhere.
A very Happy Christmas to all !
Thanks to Picblanc and Russell for their welcome back.
Now gentlemen if you want to treat yourself with a really nice gift for the new year, here it is : The volume two of Colin Seeley's souvenirs : "Colin Seeley ... and the rest.". It's very well written and include a lot of inedited pictures from 1970 to our days. Believe me, this book is absolutely fantastic !
If you want a copy signed by Colin, contact him at :
eva_colin@btopenworld.com
Phone : 0208 302 7627.
Or his editor Alan Wilson at :
www.redlinebooks.co.uk Phone0191 230 44 14.
I have absolutely no interest in the selling of this book, but I really love it. To me it's the new bible of the era I had the chance to live in !

WOW

looks like a great book , must get a copy

thanks for the info. Henri- Michel and a warm welcome back to the site from me also
Great stuff, Henri-Michel, that'll spark the lads up on Boxing Day ! Can you tell me though, in the captions for those photographs, whether there's a name for the tall, blonde mechanic in the Brands Hatch start-line pic between Stan Woods and Don Mackay, and also behind Sheeney's 750 outside the workshop doors in the next photo ? It's just that he appeared in this thread some time ago, in a photo of a large group of Antipodean racers from the paddock at Imola (Jeff Sayle, McGregor. Willing, Greg Johnson etc), and nobody knew his name then.
AND... what about that extremely rare shot of Sheeney in a suit, rather than jeans-for-all-occasions ? Great shots H-M, and looks like a great book.
