ray pickrell right at the back,i think the one behind no11 is one of the boyer triumph*terrible twins*? david nixon or the other one who's name escapes me at the mo.
ah was it paul butler?,i know one lost his life racing.nixon i think.
Russell Burrows
You mean the one who is very close to number eleven and probably thinking...ah, never touched me...?

Sorry Dennis, yes I too think its Pickerll and definitely Peter Butler. Unfortunately both him and ........ Nixon were killed. frown.gif
knickerbrook
I'm with Dennis for Tony Jeffries. I think number 11 may be John Hedger, with Peter Butler's helmet visible behind him. Number 36 could be John Taylor, and is that Pete McKinley to the left of number 27? Ray Pickrell bringing up the rear.

mad.gif too slow again!!

Well spotted Barry, it is the George Formby fan, John Hedger. Pete McKinley is right too, ditto Jefferies and Butler but not John Taylor. The picture is from Seeley's latest book and like Michel I'm not being paid either....I just happen to have the programme.....

The others are : .....Terry Hutton (TD2) 6, Don Grant (Manx) 36, Lou Geeson (Norton Atlas) is 10, 25 is Adrian Cooper (Kuhn Norton) and I think that is Tony Godfrey on number 44 (998 Blitz ) some sort of Vincent ? behind Hedger. Oh and its Snetterton Race of Aces meeting August 1971.

Less a transporter more a mobile showroom - brilliant idea but not overly functional ? Did anyone ever see this ?
picblanc
What a great picture, seen it before as it was printed in one of the bike papers at the time,(where did you get this one from Russ, your Colin Seeley book?) I was there that day, serves me right for sitting in living room chatting to a mate while we demolish two bottles of ginger wine!!...well it is Christmas!!! When I could of been on here...and you have all the answers, and the programme.

Yes, available at all good bookshops £29.95. Actually, it's really well researched and produced, as well as being big, about 12x10. wink.gif

You added a bit, 1978 is right, I can hear the rustling of programme pages from here!!

Not a Dutchman , despite the signage on the bike, rather a Belgian considering the production Levior helmet...

Jules Niès ? Or one of his sons , Alain maybe ?

edit : I'm having second thoughts about the Levior now, wasn't that design one of the standard ones for the AGV "Ago" ?

There is no hope for me, mine are lost in the garage since we moved here 25 years ago.............all mine is done from my (admitted very limited) memory........ :\

I am sitting upstairs, but even forgot why I came up here roflmao.gif

Have bought a few old MotorSports from the dreaded bay, (ones that I originally had in the '60s, how sad am I?) I have to keep them in the garage, senior management hates the musty smell rolleyes.gif
