Hello friends , sorry for not helping with the Rungis issue but I was asleep, then walking in the hills ( damn hot it was ) while you were having your fun
I confirm the Rungis meeting only took place once, in 1972. Make sure you check out the "programme" page , all the pages are thumbnails that you can click on to a larger version . Check out the entry lists...

The biggest sequel of that meeting was that Paris motorcyclists took the habit of riding out to Rungis on the friday nights , after their traditional meeting at the Bastille square, and having "races" there during most of the night . The safety conditions were of course appaling , all sorts of bikes , from 50cc Mobylettes to the most recent japanese 750 superbikes , ridden by riders of very uneven talent, made for a highly dangerous cocktail, and there were dozens of casualties, including in the ranks of "spectators" who were lining the "circuit" on the edge of the pavements. Check out that page on the same Bike70 website, the pictures speak by themselves

Riding there was eventually banned, but not before the governement ( doing something clever for once) had subsidised the building of the "Carole" circuit in the north suburb of Paris, sometimes in 1980 I think, whose exclusive goal at the origin was to provide free "track days" on the week-ends to all motorcyclists - the only request was to have a road-legal bike ( well, at least carrying a registration plate

and a valid insurance for said bike . I did ride there a few times , making sure I would start dead last with my 250 4-stroke trail bike and cruise around dreaming I was a racer for 2 to 3 laps ( maximum ) before I would start being caught and lapped by the fastest guys - and then I did my best to stay out of the way !
