Chimay is on the 17th, 18th and 19th of July this year. Its unconfirmed whether or not it will be held on the full 9km circuit this year but the IHRO website says it will so we'll see. Regardless I'll see you there if you are going! wave.gif

This one 1978 Trans Trophy races, Steve was not in the team that year, it was the year the organizers decided to seed Sheene Potter & Grant, the rest of the team was decided in 30min? qualifying in the morning, with fastest lap times counting, so Marshall, Haslam, Williams, Ditchburn, Manship were in, with Steve Wright the reserve rider.
Not the best way of preparing a team to face the Yanks I think!?

Hi Mike /Graham

Yes, spokes a bit of a nightmare, takes me between 2-4 hours to cut out and delete background.
Mark is racing Barry Neals Exactweld 350 as Barry's not struck on road circuits, although Barry will probably parade the 250 Exactweld Discvalve.

Graham, would that be Kieth Turner??

Hi all, and a Happy New Year.
Just back from a web free Norfolk, where the Barn Owls put on a bit of a show for me one night.
Anyway, couple of things jogged my memory .
Alan Nies, mentioned a page or two back, was the first person i ever saw fall off a racing bike, at McLeans, Donington on 12 April 1980. Noted neatly in my prgramme of the day. Nice to hear his name again.
Re the above, wasn't the Makaha deal set up by George Harrison? And did I read somewhere that Stavros never actually saw any money out of it? (they went bust mid year, without the money ever getting to the team?)
And finally, jogged by the Pasolini pic, has anyone else got the TT Memorial book? Talk about a labour of love, but some excellent, if at times heartbreaking articles on all those to have paid the ultimate price on the IOM.
Cheers for now

Hi Mick,

Thanks for another great photo! However from the seat, in the pouring rain.....that's NOT how remember it. Get through the corner (any corner)....stand the bike back up.....and WOW!!!! The spray off that front tyre was unbelievable! I've never liked racing in the rain, but I would again. :\

I should clarify, yes to racing sidecars (as passenger?) not heard the Jock Taylor story though?
GD66
Yes Gra, he used to swing for Pete Krukowski.

Rising from my bed of pain (copyright Sir T.Wogan) where a bad case of man-flu has lately confined me, I've come late to the reverse-cylinder TZ250 posts, to which I should like to add my pics of the first one I ever saw:

Certainly my personal favourite of the bikes I've had/rode.

Been trying to get hold of one (TZ250W or U) for post classic racing, but they seem to be as rare as rocking horse sh*t out here frown.gif :\

think Chris was a passenger for Darren Dixon,it must be have been him who bought the ex Jock Taylor outfit

it sticks in my memory because a friend of mine was dreaming of buying the outfit himself

did Chris ever passenger for Darren?
