Just me joking chaps - it's late at night
Hmmm, I seem to remember a post a while back about roadbikes used for racing (fil2.8) and here you all are getting all teary eyed about a - - - roadbike used for racing. Doesn't worry me, I loved/love them all, especially things like the Moriwaki and the Suzuki GS1000 used by Wes Cooley. Anything with an engine is exciting though -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60Tamp2fHhgAn American magazine Cycle or Cycle World did a great article on the GS1000 lots, of internal piccies, all the specs and I had a copy of that magazine for years, proabably still have it somewhere. They also did a great article on the Lawson KZ1000, I had that one also. Used to read and re-read those then a couple of years later I was with Suzuki GB at Crawley and working on the GS1000 descendant, the XR69. The GS1000 article is online these days -

Pity nobody does end of season articles like these anymore, particularly on the BSB/WSB bikes as these are not prototypes, I can understand the reluctance in MotoGP, but even then, would Ducati stop making the Desmo if they could see inside a Yamaha, or Yamaha make a Desmo clone and drop their across the frame 4? I don't think so, both are capable of winning in the right hands.
That's some good stuff on the Cooley bike Paul

A guy was riding quite a nice Cooley rep at MId-Ohio though I doubt it had even half of the work done that is shown in the article (now in my favourites)
Mine will have to evolve into whatever it does since the guys use GSXR wheels and suchlike these days to use decent rubber. I can't get an SV650 rear in it as the sprocket offset is way out! I wanted to use the 1100 motor but capacity limit for 4 valvers is 1025 which is a bit stupid. Reckon the Colin Breeze Atom is more my style with a similar lack of funds
How about a world strimming championship using outboard motors?
There used to be lots of end of season magazine tests too, maybe fans aren't supposed to know about the technical side any more?
