Guys,
Crikey, that was quick!! Well done, you are absolutely right, and it's Keppel Gate in the Superbike TT in 2007. Chris got a first in the 350 Classic at the Manx this year on a Honda, and has lived on the Island for the last few years. Chris is a bit of a legend IMHO, was racing well before I started and is still going strong.
Back at the Match Races - 71 I think, he was racing an unfaired Montessa in the Production event. He was dicing with a guy on a 500 Suzuki twin, passed him on just about every corner, and got passed again on the straights. We were in the paddock stand with Stafford and Graham Dixon, and all the riders started cheering Chris on. After a couple of laps, it spread to Paddock Bend, and the start-finish, and soon afterwards the whole 60,000 or so crowd was rooting for him - down in 15th place or something!! I think he was beaten to the line in the end, but got a standing ovation - and rightly so.
As you say, the amazing Chris McGahan!!

Is it a MK 8 ? My MK7 had a slim tailpiece with the top two silencers exposed
Think its a mk 9 see the 16" front wheel and really small front fairing
were any of you at brands when peter t boned mark phillips at clearways and the whole lot went up in flames
poor lad hadnt a bob and was going mental cos the marshalls had covered the bike in foam
he was really flying that day and giving a good account of himself against the top riders of the day

I knew it was Leslie McMaster a few pages back (many pics of him that seaosn in the BikeSport Ireland book form 1989. Other than that, some truly impressive spots)
Back on Herve Guilleux's BUT/Kwak I thought that the regs stated that the exhaust shouldn't project over a line drawn from the floor vertically which touched the rear most point of the tyre? Or was that ages ago? HG rode some very weird front end looking BUT bikes in the early 80s at places like Cadwell, I seem to remember.
