Hello,

Probably the topic name is not correct, because if someone famous / talented dies (race group manager, well known technician, race car driver, etc), of course we all feel sorry. But on the other hand have you a feeling like "oh, he died before you or anyone else could make an interview with him ?

I feel this thing as I have red that RĂ¼diger Faltz (well known BMW and Alpina dealer / tuner) died. I planned to learn german end of this year / begining of 2009, then probably i would ask him to tell us the stories of
his tuned cars and Faltz / Alpina and Faltz Reppekus cars, etc. Too late, he has died.

And it repeats everytime with lots of bmw related thing. Anyone made interview with H. P. Koepchen before he died in 1999 ? Or with Ronnie Peterson about this BMW touring car racing memories ? How about Hans-Peter Joisten ? No, noone made any interview, all their knowledge and memories are lost.

I think it is the shame of the whole "so called" bmw journalist group, who usually writes "around 200 pages", all the same boring "bmw history books", but never made any interview about the key persons of the bmw history.

Think about the bmw race car / touring car drivers. The only factory race driver who has got a good, touring
car related book is Dieter Quester. What about the other drivers ? Hans Stuck, H. Kelleners, Alex S. Rogir, Gunther Huber, and other successfull touring car drivers ? No books. And there are very old in 2008. You do the rest of the math.

What do you think ?
