Don't expect Kovalianen to finish second he has never done better than third on merit and even then that was helped by Massa's retirement.
He has only achieved one podium and lucked into a victory.
His average finish position is 5.9, makes you wonder why his contract was extended...

Alonso's is 9.3... So 5.9 is positively impressive in comparison. Considering the 9.3 is the score set by a former WDC.

I reckon the Ferraris will have the legs in Monza, as others have said. Also I just have a feeling Vettel may pull something out of the bag too.

It wouldnt surprise me if Lewis just goes too hard to prove a point and bins it, similarly with Heikki trying to pull himself up. Perhaps Kimi will also put a little too much pressure on, trying to put himself back into/further into contention.

Yep that's a fair comparison rolleyes.gif

I think you forgot the fact that the McLaren* is 1 - 1.2 seconds faster than the Renault.

*At least Lewis' McLaren...
chesterfield
LOL - perhaps if his actions off the track and his professional conduct had been up to the same standards as his driving he wouldnt now be in a slower car?

I think he was quoted as saying in 2007 that the car "Mclaren" was 1-2 seconds quicker because he was driving it. Would be interesting to know what his opinion is now on why its 1-2 seconds quicker..

Just pointing out that you suggest it was wrong to even extend Kovalinens contract because of a 5.9, yet think a driver with a 9.3 should be in a Ferrari seat. Biassed much?

I still reckon Vettel could be interesting in Monza, and if there arent any grid penalties, the battle between Mclaren and Ferrari should be incredible on Sunday.

If you go to Italy and put ketchup on your pasta, pray that 20 grid slots is the worst thing that happens to you.

Whilst in a reasturant near the Nurburgring, I ordered pineaple on my Pizza in front of a former Itallian friend just to see his reaction.

That wasnt the incident that led to him becoming a "former" friend, but Im fairly certain it didnt help! lol.gif

The Italians can be a little passionate about that sort of thing it seems.

2004 race started wet and was wet for 20 laps or so IIRC.

Piquet will continue testing Relativity by observing events happening at different speed relative to his teammate.

Funny cause its truthy...lol.gif

Trulli will secretly paint red the white parts of his Toyota overnight, so he can get some attention at Monza.

Is that you Mr Bolshevik..if so welcome back!

Hours after the race, someone among the public will realize that Button was actually racing, and will feel amazed.

And Kubica will be seen discussing rhinoplasty with his dear friend, Ron Dennis, who is eager to show off his new hair-plugs, complete with beryllium reinforcements.

One thing is for sure, if it is wet all weekend long i bet there is defcon 1 at ferrari HQ.

Ferrari will set up the cars to run at ludicrous speed, but Kimi will manage to get his turned into a vacuum cleaner. He will score still fastest lap with it and finish in the points, tho.

Piquet will continue testing Relativity by observing events happening at different speed relative to his teammate.

Barrichelo and Massa will cause a war between the brazillian gods of rain and sun. Hopefully someone will stop Webber's prays before they go wrong and it ends snowing.

Trulli will secretly paint red the white parts of his Toyota overnight, so he can get some attention at Monza.

Fisichella will let Ferrari lap him 20 times for the same reason. Then spin a fews times and go off track. Maybe attach some colorful helium balloons to his Force India. He will be caught once by the cameras.

Heidfeld secret twin will be discovered between the bushes with a BMW clone ready to jump in the track for 3rd at the last lap.

Hours after the race, someone among the public will realize that Button was actually racing, and will feel amazed.

It was less, Barrichello pitted for dry tyres on lap 5 or 6 after Alonso srated to close the grap tremendously.

Actually Alonso passed Barrichello and took the lead on the track.

I was amazed when Barrichello said in a F1 Racing interview, a few months later, that he pitted when Alonso was catching him because it's just factually untrue.

The weather site predictions are useless now, with attention directing towards the rainmap.

For practice, the rainmap shows a distinct chance of rain, but for the second session in the afternoon with possibly 10mm of rain.

For qualifying, the rainmap shows a very high chance of rain, with 10 to 15mm again a possibility. For the race, again 10mm's of rain is possible.

This is a good website for Italian weather:

Its hot here in Sardegna. Not convinced Monza will be so lucky.

Sorry, yes another thread.........but I've been wondering this since last weekend, and wonder what some of you think about the psycology for the next race.....

Hammy eventualy "won" at Spa...but only after losing it on the first lap..and only because rain saved his butt....but then the chicane occured, we all know what happened to his "win"......so I assume some "anger" might be there?......Some may call it determination....but...well.....I'd be pissed.....and I'm not sure thats a good thing in an F1 car...lol.

Kimi, fantastic drive at Spa, if a little "firm" with the other drivers, including his teammate.....but a world class drive, that really made me wonder just how good he really is..with all that pressure, and his expressed will to win at all costs....he did just that, nearly.....but then, the Hammy thing happened.....and however it was eventualy ruled upon....he got overtaken..period...and for the lead....which must have been a psycological blow?.....he then hit Hammy up the backside into La Source..then eventualy hit the wall (Did he crack?).......can he take away the best part of his day, and ignore the bad? I don't think it works that way......I am unsure how I would feel if I was Kimi......

Massa? Does he really feel he earned it? Can he treat Spa as a normal win? With all the mental "boost" that such a win gives a driver? Again, not so sure....he might be feeling a little sheepish, un-deserving...forget Hamilton, Kimi blew Massa off the road at Spa......I can imagine that if something is handed to you on a silver plate, you don't "enjoy" it as much, as if you fought and won it the hard way.......Massa was just "not in the action" last weekend.....does HE feel that he will only win with the help of others?......His comments over recent weeks suggest that might be his internal thinking.......which to me, is not world champion material......

Alonso. You know? I've not seen him so happy all year as he was after Spa, it was great to see that smile on his face as he recalled the race, and knowing that he is really the key player out of all the drivers, and knowing all the teams are waiting on him before they make any moves, must give him a huge confidence boost...again, was great to see him looking happy again....

Kubica? Hiedfield? The others?.....I feel Spa was a big race, but got overshadowed by one incident........so maybe we could discuss their "thinking" here also ....

But I'm really most interested in the Championship Contenders, especially if current or ex racers could comment.....what do you think the head games are doing right now...such a mixed bag of Spa.....what would you take away from it if you were in their positions?.....

Cheers

And again, soz for another thread on this... frown.gif lol.....

I guess it's not a new thread.wink.gif

Lewis has a point to make.
Kimi has even more reasons to not care and go for win or bust.
Massa only sounds like he needs help because people keep bringing it up all the time.

The rest of the field either have their minds on new contracts or decent results for the rest of the season.

The point is pineapple goes well with different kinds of blue cheese, sweetness and acidity balances the salty and nutty flavour of blue mould. Ok, it's vulgar, and kinda american but it works.

Now the situation doesn't change if you put these two ingredients that go together well on a pizza, which is quite neutral base for different kind of toppings. Most important thing is not to put too many different stuff on it.

Now, what is this to do with F1? Well... pizza is like a F1 car. Toppings are like winglets. Too many of them look ugly on a car and makes pizza unorthodox but may make it go faster. biggrin.gif

Its raining like England in Monza at the minute. Practice session red flagged but not before Sutil proving he is one of the best wet weather drivers out there yet again in FP1 up.gif

Pinapple works great on pizza up.gif
Cflores
Not to take anything away from Sutil, but he set his best time when the track was still near-dry
