Don't think there have been so many drivers with a more or less realistic hope for a podium or more this year than tonight -and who do you think will win this?

Massa

I voted Alonso but it's all wishful thinking.
Anyone - and I mean anyone - can win this race depending on weather conditions, fuel loads, luck, SCs and soforth.

If it's wet: I have no idea

Vettel will be light and get a good start. After the first chincane, the order will be Vettel, Webber, Bourdais, Kovalainen, Massa.
Then Vettel will pull away steadily from Webber, with a train forming behind him. Kovalainen will lead from Massa after the lighter cars do their first stops and then they'll be 2nd and 3rd after Vettel when they stop.
Vettel will continue to pull away with his lighter car and dry set up, he'll pit and rejoin in the lead.
Behind them Alonso will have been overtaken by Raikkonen, but Hamilton will get stuck for many more laps.
At the end, it'll be Vettel, Kovalainen, Massa on the podium. Bourdais will get a respectable 4th ahead of Webber. Raikkonen and Hamilton will come 6th and 7th, the last point will go to Heidfeld.
Just kidding.
I voted for Vettel but really have no idea.
Voted Vettel, but that's wishful thinking too. I think Kova has the best package for tomorrow.
Very hard to say but as a Ferrari fan I have to say Massa, but on the other hand as a Alonso fan I have to go with Alonso and then we have Vettel, another of "my" drivers, and I also want him to win! To many favorite drivers in the top 6!
Dream result would be Vettel winning ahead of Massa and Alonso, but I think the race will be between Massa and Kova after the first stops if it's dry with Massa taking the win. If its wet its anyones race.
I voted Fernando cause i want him to win, nevertheless i think Heikki has best chance
I woted for Heidfield

I'd love to see Rosberg get it as a way of celebrating Williams' 600th GP. Him or one of the TRs. Hopefully the big guns can be kept at bay for a chnage.

Most sites have around 60% rain, at moment most are 50/50. I hope rain for pure excitement.
I've chosen Massa, he's my favourite. However, I wonder if luck will strike for Williams at their 500 GP, now, imagine if they won.
This from SkyBet betting for the win:
Kovalainen, H 6/4
Massa, F 11/4
Vettel, S 6/1
Hamilton, L 7/1
Raikkonen, K 12/1
Webber, M 20/1
Alonso, F 25/1
They have it at 20/1 for lead to change on last lap.

It was a difficult choice. Webber, Rosberg, Vettel, and then I hit HK. It's nice to be in the majority.

Kova has to be the most likely candidate, so i voted for him. but anything can happen really, hamilton or raikkonen can win it.

I'd have to go with Kova, whether it rains or not, simply because he's in the best placed top car. I can see him getting ahead of Vettel very early on and disappearing up the road unchallenged.
Unless Massa gets a mega start (which is certainly possible), I think he's going to lose too much time getting past old campaigners like Webber and those who know this is their best ever chance (Vettel, Bourdais). I wouldn't say Massa is that great at overtaking, relative to the other front runners, hence the old criticism that he can only win from pole. Given the fundamental car advantage, I think he'll make steady progress through the field and come in second.
Hamilton certainly is good at overtaking - too good, as Spa proved! - but he's got to get past some very tough people (notably Kubica and Alonso) if he's going to get anywhere near the podium this time, so I reckon sixth or seventh is going to be about as good as it gets for him... and that assumes he gets ahead of Kimi at the start. It's equally likely he will get tangled up with someone on the way through that melee and DNF.
I can't see Kimi figuring much either, for all of the same reasons.
I reckon wily Heidfeld must be a good bet for the final place on the podium, simply because he's in a decent car and we've seen him do it so often before.
Of course, I don't really have a clue.

From what I make of the weather, most of the race will be on dry so Heikki should collect this one.
My heart says Webber. My head tells me that someone will twonk him up the rear coming into the first chicane and scupper his chances.

You joking right? If they do that to kova, iam quitting formula 1. Do you have FACTS before i do something as drastic as that?

I would LOVE to see Webber get a win - just to get that one win for the history books...
...and to make up for the one that got away in Fuji last year
However with Marks notorious luck he will probably get punted off the road, run out of fuel, get the wrong tyres put on etc etc etc....
Drivers I wouldn't mind seeing on the top of the podium are Vettel, Kova, Bourdais and Rosberg.
My dark horse bet for the win is Heidfeld.
Will be great to see Kimi, Kubica and Hammy coming through the field.
But who knows? Could just as well be Piquet getting his second win as anyone else...

Let's take another guess: who will be out of the race at the first chincane?
I'll go for Coulthard plus someone else. Raikkonen or Fisichella, probably Fisico.

are you for real?its a FACT that LH in particular struggled in Q2 because he went out on the wrong tyres, got called into the weighbridge, and missed the window of opportunity to put in a good laptime before the rain really came down, its NOTHING to do with having a dry weather setup (if that was the case he wudnt have been up with HK in Q1) so basically you're talking garbage (the same basically happened to KR,apart from the weighbridge bit if im right)
Have to say I could not be any less interested in the result. In fact it will be the first GP I haven't watched in years. Though I guess if you support any of the 'underdog' teams or drivers it could be very interesting for you.

Well I have the feeling the Toro Rosso are not too good at the start, so Vettel might be easily overtaken by Kovalainen. Otoh HK has had a bunch of bad starts so it might not happen after all.
Then Massa is likely to pass several opponents, as the BMW's in the middle of the pack.
Anyway the first chicane is very complicated when so many cars have to fit so we'll probably see a SC or people cutting the chicane and losing several positions when backing off (Hamilton cut it last year and he didn't).
Alonso, the Toyotas and BMWs will be fighting for the podium if it is wet, being one stopper can be an advantage there.

I voted Webber - he's been right up there in the wet before. It would be crazy though for a Renault engine to win at Monza, but maybe in the wet its possible ... maybe the very wet. And then it would depend on their fuel loads (an unknown at the moment), and also on SC effects.
I sure hope its wet ... the only more interesting thing might be, if its is both wet and dry and wet ... that would be even more interesting. Plus some safety cars as well. Heck it might not be a borefest this race ...
If it is dry...Massa should take it.
if its wet ...I am very afraid of T1 ...many ppl up there not used to be up there.

If everybody gets off to a good start then Heikki Kovalainen is in the best position to score his second grand prix win.
But there are a lot of people at the front who have not been under this kind of pressure ( starting at the front brings a lot of pressure for first timers) - Vettel, Webber (although he has had a few second row starts - he has never had a good start either because of car trouble of finger trouble) , Bourdais ( though he should be very experienced at this when he was in Champ Car - F1 is different and he is fighting for a seat next year - he cant screw up).
Kovalainen himself has messed up many times this season - so he is no guarantee for a clean starter.
And then Rosberg - if there is a car to have a missing front wing by corner three- I would bet its Rosberg.

( though I am seriously hoping that wont be the case - this is the best chance for Willy since Aus)
Taking all that into account - Massa - if he can keep his cool and navigate through the first lap without incidents - the Ferrari should have the pace to win the race easily.
So Massa it is - mostly winning today and perhaps taking the lead in the championship

If Massa again lucks a win I'll go nuts
He isnt starting that far from Kovalainen. If Kovalainen loses a position in start and Massa gains one, anyhting is possible.

Massa wasn't confortable at all in the dry on Friday, so I don't think he has that chance to win, as temps will be cold and we have to remember that unless it rains at some moment, hard tyres will have to be used and Ferrari is likely to struggle on them...
Massa should be able to move into the podium, but the Ferrari hasnt got the race pace to win easily.

Sun 06:59 Earlier this morning we mentioned that cloud was building to the south, and also the east.
The latest news is that the weather is now starting to turn, with the centre of low pressure having moved towards Sardinia. The result of this is the weather is now being dragged gradually south-west, with any showers today coming from the north-east.
As you can see from the rainfall radar, further showers are packing into the top right corner of the map, and are heading in the general direction of Monza.
For the moment the circuit continues to dry out following the overnight showers, but it is a slow process in the cool morning air.
Any subsequent updates will come from our raceday coverage. Please join us from 08:00 GMT as we build towards this afternoon's Italian Grand Prix.
Still 50-50 I guess for rain.

Massa seems to have a setup geared for rain, he was awfully slow on straightlines. The slowest out of everyone actually.
If it is dry, I expect Kovalainen to easily win.
If it is wet, no idea.
