A six-day private Atlas Indy500 would be nice for a change.

I fancy driving an Arrows....how about a game of F1'97?

I have the game ready to pop into the PS3.

The best was winning from the back of the grid on expert at hungaroring in the prost in a 20 lap race.

Okay I am in.

HVM Racing.

GhostR
I would join, but already waiting for a classic F1 private game to start. Have fun!
Chicken McNuggets
And now I'm starting a public Sevens game. stoned.gif The perfect antidote to the cherry-picker-paradise F1 sets, hopefully...
Breadmaster
I love the 7's - it's a tough series to get your head around though - beware!
Chicken McNuggets
And I'm in a one-car team, it turns out... a mistake already? eek.gif
Breadmaster
maybe not - having a teammate that can login several times a day is a must (due to how qualifying works) so if you are learning then a one car team maybe an advantage. HINT: read the Series Info VERY VERY carefully
tbones
I had gotten away from playing for awhile, but I went back for a second round and now have donated/bought kool tools from them so that I could play in multiple games. I like all the older F1 car sets, although I never get in, in time to get a team from the sharp end of the grid. roflmao.gif I filled up my 4 public games real quickly with car sets from F1 in 2002, 2005 and 2009, plus a endurance series with an LMP1 Pescarolo Courage Judd. When and if someone needs a player to fill up a private game with car sets from the 80's and early 90's, I will be glad to help fill out the grid wave.gif
GhostR
Just joined an F1 2002 public game as the last to enter, so in the 2nd Minardi. Stuck it on pole for Melbourne! eek.gif

Knowing BATracer, that's a sure sign that the game's got an awful season planned for you, lol.;) Ten straight retirements from now on, it'll be. **Prays he hasn't actually jinxed GhostR's season...**

Honestly, my F1 1986 season is really frustrating right now... it's just mad. Sometimes so far, I'll dominate and win, on other occasions I'll get overtaken really quickly and easily and tumble down the field to finish 11th or something, for no apparent season. How am I supposed to plan a strategy when that happens... The tactics/strategy remain the same. There's no blatant difference between different circuits that seems to explain these wild contrasts. I just don't get this game at times. Maybe that's just F1 1986 for you, rather than BATracer per se, though.

I was fifth in my first Sevens race, though. eek.gif So far, so simple, so here comes the pain...

Nah, the jinx will come from having actually had the best three fastest qualifying laps!!!

My 2009 Toyota is definitely jinxed. Had a good run from the back going in my previous race, despite wing damage on the first lap, on the right strategy ... pace car comes out 9 laps before due to pit for one and only stop, and my teammate pits from 2 places in front of me so I get delayed. Gah!

Scored a point in a Force India in another series though, happy with that one.
Chicken McNuggets
Blimey, so no fluke circumstances or anything? We had a Lola 1-2 in qualifying in Monaco in our '97 game... in the wet, though. I think.

I managed third in the points in a Toyota in an '09 private game recently actually, and yes, something similar happened to me in Malaysia - the weather changed, my team-mate up ahead decided to switch tyres on just the same lap where I'd been scheduled to make my first stop. I had to wait and finished ninth; she won. A completely unavoidable coincidence whereby I 'took one for the team'. I pipped her in the standings on the final round, though, despite my chancy approach to the last few rounds whereby I was searching for wins rather than simply points... but couldn't quite get one. Gah. I was even dominating in Singapore, only to make a driver error really late on, but still prove quick enough to work my way back up to sixth in the approximately three laps that remained. frown.gif

Fun season, though. I wonder whether they're going to downgrade the Toyota and upgrade the Ferrari, given recent changes of form in real life. eek.gif

No fluke. Think some of the others played things a bit safe and got caught out smile.gif. Finished tenth in the end, lost places at the start and my race strat didn't work out either. Elected to go a bit too conservative on that side I think, after blitzing to the pole.

I won my first try in a RBR.

Ironically, the battle came down to the Brawns versus the RBR cars...

Im not really good at F1 so it was a pleasant and hard fought win. Strategy was king. My team mate and the Brawns would qualify light, id go long, and it worked often enough to win me the title.
Gilles4Ever
DTM has been released - I am planning on a private game as soon as Indy is finished (weekend) - who would be interested in playing?
Breadmaster
thanks for the tip off! smile.gif
Chicken McNuggets
Oooh, now that would be fun. As would F1 1967, if that'll ever see the light of day... it would make '86 look like a pony trial though, wouldn't it...
Breadmaster
i'm really looking forward to '67....it was next in line behind DTM - fingers crossed!
Chicken McNuggets
Did I mention in this thread yet that I really really really really really really really REALLY want a WRC one? biggrin.gif Even simply a Generic series could be unspeakably brilliant on BATracer IMO, if they could get a format for it somehow that doesn't make each game too long or too awkward - you could have big fields, several categories, all the obvious WRC models (in their most up-to-date iteration) since '97 to choose from, F1 '86 style unpredictability... I hope it's not just an unworkable dream to get one that's usable and popular.

i'm in!
Chicken McNuggets
I wasn't going to enter, but now have done. cool.gif
GhostR
If I'm needed to get the game going, I'll enter. Otherwise I'm trying to get my number of concurrent games reduced.
Gilles4Ever
Its going slow we need players pleeeeeze - its only 6 days.
Chicken McNuggets
Maybe making a DTM game the next "official" Atlas one may be the best idea. Or I'd be prepared to start one anyway, if anybody's still interested.wink.gif

BTW, just a message to anyone interested that there's an F1 1997 game I'm involved in that's still looking for entrants. Only seven cars taken so far. http://batracer.com/-cj?&D&42138
panzani
Yes, Chicken, looks like a DTM would be the smart one for next Atlas private -- just 20 drivers, just 20 days! wink.gif
Chicken McNuggets
Okay, with the Indy game complete I've gone and set up that oft-suggested DTM one...

In I am, Gavin, and PMed every clan member as well.wink.gif
Chicken McNuggets
Thankee. smile.gif Anyone else for the DTM? I'll otherwise shortly have to start advertising it to those outside AtlasF1.
Chicken McNuggets
It's now been posted on the Forum. Any dogs of the cousin of the elder step-brother of the cat of the Happy Meal of the mother of the distant millionaire relative of any remaining interested members of this board, feel free to hop in while there are still seats.
Chicken McNuggets
For those interested, there's a private F1 2007 game with some seats still available. ID is 43467, password is 07. I'm still in need of a team-mate in the Williams. biggrin.gif
Breadmaster
Alas i'm maxed out on private games atm frown.gif
Zippel
26 days....
Chicken McNuggets
Anybody interested in hopping into a Ferrari 550 in the GTS class of a private LMES game? Season's just three races old and my present team-mate has asked to be asked.

Game ID is #43380, password 2PLMS
panzani
With the new Clan Ranking rules Atlasholics is as of Today 22th Clan overall!

And we don't even have 10 players doing public games, some are doing just privates. And McFly is on a sabbatical!

If you like to play play some public as well, perhaps we could be top 10 for a day or 2! biggrin.gif
Breadmaster
wow!
Zippel
That's bizzare. I wonder what criteria Jules is basing that on?

'Roland McFly' is retired. If I choose to return it'll be under a different KT and name. But I'm enjoying life outside the box for now. smile.gif
panzani
12nd as of Today, Zippel. biggrin.gif

The new criteria is explained in the home page -- and detailed in the BB -- but to make it short recent success values more than the members' carved in stone WR points. If you log-in you'll as well find a new 'Clan Statistics' page and you'll see how we are doing. Hope if -- or should I say when? -- you come back you join us like your alter-ego McFly did! wink.gif

P.S. I would even guess the WR itself will change to reflect the same recent performance eventually, btw.
Breadmaster
I won a race today in an '09 Williams! w00t!
panzani
Excellent, Ted! clap.gif

Sure. But don't hold your breath.wink.gif

Looking at the clan tables now, its down to 22nd. Its like riding a wave.....

But whatever the system the ol' Elite are still sitting at the top.

3 new carsets released this week: GP2, F3 and Ferrari Challenge - I've no free slots though ;(
panzani
And a 4th now: Trans-Am!
Captain Tightpants
I wonder if there are any more on the horizon ... I know F1 '67, F1 '79, SuperGT, MotoGP and NASCAR are all near completion (though Jules claims the '67 carset has tons of new features that while he thinks are really cool, will take forever to code; then again, he has been known to lie through his lying little teeth before), and a Pre-War Grand Prix set will be entering the builder shortly.
