Well, since the title of this thread is "D*ick of the day",
and, the question you asked, posted directly above the poll was...
"Who made the stupidest mistake?"
So I looked for "Maximus", but couldn't find it in the list that you created.
This poll is obviously just as 'fixed' as the racing was today.

i voted "other"... both Hamilton and Massa deserved their penalties, they both acted like complete amateurs.... Bourdais most definitely did not deserve anything but praise IMHO...
Therefore my vote of "other" applies to both the stewards and the FIA. As soon as the concept of "the show" infiltrated F1, proper racing became a nuisance to be frowned upon but tolerated by the powers that be...

Lewis Hamilton. He never learn. Sometimes he just cannot think more further than next corner - like at Fuji. It was both dangerous and stupid move by him.
Hopefully Robert Kubica wins wdc - he would be worthy.
I also wonder why Nelson Piquet jr. and Kimi Räikkönen are on nominee list for 'Loser of the day".
They both drove good GP and still people saying they were losers.
Maybe biggest losers of weekend was you - trolls.

Definitely Massa the way Hamilton started opened the doors wide up for Felipe. If he had of stayed behind Hamilton instead of barging him off he would have finished on the podium as Hamilton had to pit anyway for new tyres. Colliding with Seabass was bloody stupid too (how Seabass got a penalty for that I will never know)
I was hoping Massa would win the world title but he is not doing himself any favors.

Tough call between:
1. Massa for the worst move in F1 since Jerez '97; and
2. The stewards for the worst decision in F1 ever in penalising Bordais.
But as the question says "drivers", Massa it is.

I don't understand why people assume that.
Once Hamilton was last he got new tyres because the only strategy left was to go as fast as possible to maximize his chances (and following the collision there was more reason to worry about the tyres).
However if he had Massa stayed behind him then Lewis would surely have stayed out there for as long as he could keep Massa behind him. In that situation it doesn't matter if Hamilton's overall speed is compromised as long as he manages to keep Massa behind him.
Given that Hamilton had just pulled off a fairly decisive and clean overtaking manouver on Massa I don't think it makes sense to assume that Hamilton's car was so compromised that he'd have no choice but to pit.
The two of them racing each other for critical points would have been interesting, it's a pity Hamilton was nerfed.

Lewis flatspotted his tyres badly.
Massa probably would of repassed him again .

lewis taking out half of the front runners in his grass trip in turn one, and having another grass trip in turn 2 does not even deserve to be on that list?

I gotta agree with paulm here. The way lewis haunted massa, it never looked like the flat spot bothered him that much.
Looking at the various replays of the pass though, i gotta say lewis should have known what was coming. He pretty much slammed the door on massa who either couldv braked hard, wich almost no driver does these days, or climb over the kerb and touch lewis left rear. Wich he did slightly. The penalty was just but it could all have been avoided if lewis did indeed, give massa just a little more room. Lewis wouldv ended on a podium for sure if he did that.

Sometimes one image tells you much more than hundreds of words.
Well, Lewis' attitude reminds me this:

From the footage I saw I thought Massa should have had no problem staying on track behind Hamilton and only managed to get close enough to touch him by taking a fairly significant shortcut over the corner. In some of the photo's on the Autosport website it looks far closer though.
A fundamental problem for us armchair commentators is that the camera lenses inevitably provide a distorted view on reality (and without relaying stereo queues our brains could use to make better sense of it).
I'd be interested in seeing more top down shots in formula one coverage, a few camera's high on poles over chicanes and possible overtaking areas would be good.

Eh? Massa could have easily avoided Hamilton. Massa outbraked himself - it was clearly Hamilton's corner.
I'm fairly sure almost everyone on this board thinks Massa deserved a penalty. That even goes for a lot of the Hamilton haters.

Lewis was absolutely stupid, especially given the WDC standings. But I'm not sure where "taking out" comes from. He didn't hit anyone nor force anyone off the circuit.
Massa, on the other hand, was stupid and utterly cowardly in not accepting he'd lost the corner and deciding to hit Hamilton instead.

im not saying or sugesting the penalty was unfair, it was fair and totally massas mistake. Im saying lewis shut the door very hard and quick whilst in the press statement of mclaren he claims he gave massa some room. That wasnt the case. If he wouldv done that, alla heidfeld vs rosberg at monza, both cars wouldv made it and hed still be ahead and set for podiumplace.
He should think a little more ahead imo.

What no-one has been able to understand is why taking a place by missing a chicane and then giving it back is (according to the stewards) as heinous an offence as taking a place by missing a chicane and punting someone off.

That confused me too.
Regardless of whether he made the stupidest mistake, he was certainly the biggest loser. On reflection, he'd win the poll no matter which of the two questions was asked.
I voted Massa. Lewis mistake was "stupidest", probably, but all in all, another day, another chance Massa blows of getting close to Lewis. If he (Massa) was half-good, he could have left Fuji with a 2-3 point disadvantage or even leading the championship. As it is now, Lewis can already be WDC at Shangay.

How could Massa have known Hamilton's tyre was ruined when he punted him? Bet the punt would have been ruled a 'racing incident' if Lewis hadn't cocked up in the 1st corner.

I fail to see how Bourdais was to blame, as Massa was the attacking driver, the front of his wheel hit the back of Bourdais and Bourdais was on the kerb when they collided. Massa hitting Hamilton was much stupider.

Massa for me, red mist descended with his attempt to repass Lewis and he was an idiot in the Bourdais incident

Voted for Bourdais - he's been in F1 long enough now to know that you can get away with 50/50 incidents when racing for position unless it's a Ferrari you hit.
Stupid mistake to make, really.
