Going on the record to say who you want to win the title and how you will help them on the track doesn't seem smart to me. All it will take is Hamilton throwing a pass up the inside of Alonso and Alonso slamming the door shut and he will be accused of taking him out intentionally.

Personally I think he should have kept his thoughts to himself.

I concur, better yet, the Murray and James Hunt show!

Going out on a limb, I hereby claim that Lewis thinks the same or worse towards Alonso. And perfectly understandably so, I might add.

Going by the little message Hammy sent him at Monza, I think you're right lol.gif

But why? In the name of boring corporate speak and political correctness, or what? It's not that he said anything surprising, he just confirmed what everyone knew anyway.

He can think what he likes and I don't agree with PR speak either. But suggesting he wants to assist Massa and Kubica to win the title won't seem like such a clever move if he runs into Hamilton and McLaren demand he be hung outside the FIA HQ in Paris. Previously Alonso could claim he had no favourites, now it's on public record that actually.. Alonso does have favourites and Hamilton ain't one of them. So if he were to send Hamilton into a barrier, he may have dung himself into a hole.

I doubt it. No one can force a driver to like Hamilton. If he crashes into Lewis it would be just like when nakajima crashed into Kubica or Alonso. They will never be able to prove that he did it on purpose, unless his move is bloody obvious like Schumi at Jerez.

I though Hammie's various moves at Monza was pretty obvious.

Read what he said at the press conference, he said take away points from Lewis not take out someone on track, i.e. if Massa and he is in front of Lewis.

It's rather amusing to hear Alonso being far more enthusiastic than Kimi about helping Massa win the title.

Kimi apparently is still going for the win in China but "if the team ..." tell him to support he will. Begrudingly it seems. Talk about getting blood out of a stone. I get the feeling Kimi would rather Hamiliton win so that there is still only one WDC at Ferrari going into 2009.

McLaren, by contrast, accused us of espionage: we went on for four months for a silly thing that didn't exist.

Didn't exist except Renault were found guilty so yes-yes it did exist...

Not that Flav is a sore looser or anything HAHAHAHA

Flavio wouldn't be bothered with a few silly technical papers and drawings of McLaren car being found in Renault HQ. wink.gif

And he'll sue anyone who says otherwise.

Alonso will be on pole tomorrow.

He will surely run super light (10-12 laps) to get pole & get "in the way" during the first stint.

I foresee Atlas BB meltdown. up.gif

In reality, Alonso will simply race for himself. As with the last two races, if he finds himself near the front, he will just push for the win. The only way he can 'help' Massa or Kubica would be to let them pass him for position while he holds up Hamilton. And that is not going to happen.

(And I will roflmao.gif if/when proved wrong!)

Felipe must be the last person Kimi wants to be wdc tongue.gif

In Singapore Kimi was 3rd on grid, on the clean side, behind Hammy and Massa, it was pointed out on here that the only way Kimi could gain points on Massa, without team orders forcing him to slow Lewis, was to have Hammy between them and so not challenge for 2nd off the start (hoping to swap with Massa in the pitstops). Sure enough, Kimi had a dreadful start...

All the drivers would feel the same, to be fair.

It's the nature of business I guess. Last season Massa looked genuinely happy when Hamilton won and not so when Kimi did. Basically, drivers don't want their team mates to do better than themselves. It's the worst scenario even if the corporate mantra says the exact opposite.
