Massa overshot the corner, then desperately tried to get back while he already lost.
Then he decided to torpedo Hamilton.

And ofcourse after the race you tell it's not your fault...

can a car fit in there?

Kerbs are part of the circuit, actually...

Right, but when you take a left-hander as Turn 10, shouldn't it be the left wheels on the kerbs, rather than the right wheels ??? Honestly, do not tell me that Felipe was on the right trajectory confused.gif

surely not the right one, but he was not 4 wheels off track

No Push, No Gravel! Just a clean entry into the apex by Hamilton and Massa going long.... The only mistake Hamilton made was giving Massa some room on the second apex for Massa to go on the grass, rather than push him out wide like Kimi did to him at Spa.

It's a compliment to Massa to think he's as good as Senna or Schumacher for it to be deliberate, if not it was just plain clumsy.

Of course no one pushed Massa into the gravel. But I wonder does Massa genuinely believe that he was pushed into the gravel by Hamilton or he's lying to the press consciously. He didn't do it on purpose of course, he just lacks the driving skill in close fights. Interesting question is, does he understand that he screwed up or he doesn't...

Yes he was. You can see by picture 7 that all 4 wheels are (or will be within a fraction of a second) inside the white line that designates the actual track.

Yes you're right. I couldn't do it with Massa because he pitted the lap before his drive through but Lewis has one in isolation from his pitstops. His laptimes were 1:26 and 1:38, so 24s more than normal making 25s a good proxy for a drive through at Suzuka.

Take that Hammy! Next time you try to pass a certain Ferrari, be sure to do it cleanly, otherwise wave.gif
I'm sorry WTF??

are you suggesting that the move that lead to it was not clean? explain to me how

Well, i've criticized massa in this particular case now it's time to compare him to lewis, cause him saying that he was pushed off by Hamilton is not really any different than hamilton saying kimi forced him off in spa. it seems that these guys are too lazy to hit the brake pedal when its really needed.

Look at both incidents and you will see there is a huge difference in the positions between the LH/KR one and the FM/LH. FM is talking out of A***.

they are different incidents, very different chicanes also, but still Hamilton could have hit the brakes and stay behind kimi and chose to cut the chicane. so in the end, what both said is at the same level really.

you might not feel that way, and i respect that, but this is my opinion

I'm not condoning what Massa did (and was righfully punished for) but I can't deny having cheered when it happened.

Sorry, it seems that me and that Ferrari machanic arent able to hide our emotions...wink.gif

It's just bullshit on Massa's part.
Lewis was in the same position at Spa and went off the track to avoid collision. Massa could have done the same, but he didn't resist the opportunity ahead of him.
That was the most delibirate collision I've seen in a decade or more.

.

Massa says: "thats right, I was 7 points behind with 3 races to go so I thought I would risk damaging my car and maybe take us both out so I could still be 7 points or more behind with only 2 races to go"

Do some of you actually think before you post?

The more I look at it, the more I'm wondering why Hamilton didn't open up and let Massa pass, as JV did more or less with Schuey in Jerez.

I agree but not to be passed, i think he could have opened up and still retained position or at least equal - experience maybe.

Really? when you've just overtaken someone and then taken the racing line that is rightfully yours and the person you've just overtaken sees the red mist and tries to shove his car into a gap that doesn't exist it's your job to not be there?

strange

Perhaps the question should be "Did Massa think before he punted?"
