I am putting together entire Australian GT Championship data. I have found results of all modern race but this one: Wakefield 2005 held on 13th of November.

I would be happy if anybody could provide full and practice results of the race (or at least some basic data as I have nothing).

And if anybody had photos from any Australian GT race, I would be happy as well, since I plan to put them on my website.

Kind regards,

Martin

For any race results for Australian motor racing, the place to go to is www.natsoft.com.au and click on "race timing and results".

However there are no results for a Wakefield Park meeting on 13 November 2005 at all.
The first thing to do might be to confirm that the race meeting actually went ahead.

The Australian GT championship did race the previous weekend as a support race to the A1 Grand Prix held at Eastern Creek, so I don't know if they backed up the following weekend at Wakefield Park.

The race was definitely held but was not timed by Natsoft but rather by Racetime Computing. Their website is at www.racetime.com.au, but they had already removed the data. I have been in touch with a few people from there but nobody could or was willing to help me.

I hope somebody might have saved the results when they were still available. These days I simply was not able to find them at all.

I’ve found a brief report on the Wakefield Park meeting.

Greg Crick driving a Dodge Viper ACR won races one and two.

Bryce Washington in a Porsche GT3 won the third race and the championship. Crick was second ahead of John Kaias and Mark Eddy who tied for third. Both were driving Porsche GT3s.

Peter Hackett (Lamborghini Diablo GTR) led the championship going into the final round but had clutch and gearbox woes in the first two races and did not start the third.

Final points for the five round Speed Energy Drink Australian GT Championship.

Washington 462
Hackett 414
Palmer 277
Teulan 263
Bryson 219

Hi Milan,

thank you very much for at least some information.

Do you mean that John Kaias and Mark Eddy were tied for third in the race 3, or in some kind of overall standing? I understand it as race 3 but I can't imagine how they could have been tied :-)

Thanks,

Martin

PS: any more results, by the way, I got top five in qualifying but without times

The info I gave was all that was in the report I have. As I said, it was a brief report.

Kaias and Eddy tied for third place in race three.

You should try and contact a guy by the name of Richard at Race Torque Media. I met him at that race meeting and I know that he was involved in reporting and media coverage of this series at that time. His email address is: richard@race-torque.com

Good luck!

Speedy: Thank you, I will give it a try. Martin

So Richard replied quickly but since in not involved anymore in Australian GT Championship, he could not help me. It is just to inform that I would still appreciate if somebody had the original results and could send them to me.
Thank, Martin

Sorry to hear about that. The only other thing I can suggest is that you contact the organizers of the Australian GT Championship. The link to the contacts page of their website is :

In addition, I'm attaching some images that I took that weekend - the black Lamborghini was driven by championship winner, Peter Hackett. The red/white Adrad-sponsored Porsche was driven by championship contender Bryce Washington. 'Hope you like the pics:

take care...ciao
