My favorite Giacomelli Story was happened after the 1983 Canadian Grand Prix. Bruno retired after colliding with Niki Lauda. He took place on Rosbergs Williams for a lift back to the pits. But Keke was still driving very fast. Just before the hairpin Giacomelli drop down of the Williams!!! Later he came back to the paddock with a lot of bandage on his body.

At the Kyalami lock out in 82, our birthday boy provided a a stimulating lecture on terrorism.

Given what tomorrow is I guess this is not particularly PC.

July 1980, Le Castellet. Patrick Depailler arrives on scene with his 7 year old son Loic. His team mate Bruno Giacomelli had a brilliant idea and said to Loic that he would be a nice boy if he could go over to the Ferrari garage and fix a Alfa Romeo sticker on Jody’s No 1 Ferrari.
Loic arrives into the Ferrari pits and put the Alfa Sticker in front of the Ferrari nose. A second later he was throw out the pits by Engineer Mauro Forghieri.

I think this is a story in itself. Somebody asking for 'favourite Giacomelli stories' and five and half years later only 2...from the same person.

He was quite popular with the McLaren team when he drove an M23 for them. They had special name stickers made up, 'Jack O'Malley'.
