Yesterday I've found an old issue of magazine Autosprint. Don't remember the date, it was about 10 or 12 March 1994.

A short article states that Roland Ratzenberger has just signed a five-race contract with Nick Wirty's Simtek, replacing Jean-Marc Gounon who has lost his sponsors.

Another article is more impressive: at his first test in the new Williams FW 16 - Renault, Ayrton Senna does not feel good. The cockpit is too tight. Racing the McLaren he usually had a pretty large steering-wheel with his hands free, now the steering-wheel is closed into the cockpit and his hands hit the structure. Senna is very anxious.

In another page of the magazine, someone has doubts about the regularity of the Williams' front suspensions.

Ratzenberger, Senna, steering-wheel, front suspension. I stopped reading, in tears.

Front suspension? Of the Williams?? Are you sure???

I recall the fuss about the Williams rear suspension, and the Simtek front suspension because of the use of hub level links, but nothing about the Williams front suspension! confused.gif

As an aside, I'm not too familiar with current design trends, but are hub level links still frowned upon? For all I know, they could be regular features today, but I don't recall any other usage other than on these two cars!
