Two-hour limit, anyone?
stevvy1986
i know its very early but if that forecast is true,i think it'd take a good number of SC laps to take it to the 2hr limit,as a lap in the dry is normally only about 1m10

All the weather sites are saying it's gonna be wet...

So expect a nice dry race then ;)
wingwalker
Way to early.

BTW, I love how live index shows 'Showdown at Interlagos' instead of usual 'raceday in Sau Paulo' smoking.gif

How accurate were the last two forecasts on the friday before the race?

In terms of rain. But in terms of temperature they were quite right.

And if we have lower ambient temperatures than last year coupled with harder tyres, Ferrari might struggle.

Not going to be a problem. Luca di got the ok from Max to use TC and ground effects just this once. Ron & Martin tried for similar help but Max only allowed McL to run Dunlops. smile.gif

I live in Sao Paulo, and local predictions are saying rain for Friday, scattered showers for Saturday (mostly AM) and a dry, but very humid, hot and cloudy Sunday.

Bar in mind that local predictions (Brazilian Waether Agency) usually are not that accurate this time ahead, so I would say the cold front they are anticipating could come either a bit earlier, in which case we would be assured a dry weekend, or be late, in which case we could have T-storms on the weekend.

I would say these estimates looks like 60% reliable at the moment.

The question always remains WHEN the rain will fall, not so if...
Devero
There has to be raining and what is more important it has to make in impact in all sessions.

I want to see current poor title contenders to perform nicely through extreme difficulties to justify their ambitions a little bit.

Bring it on. clap.gif
lukywill
expecting rain and sunshine in the same day all 3 days.

so, everything can happen at sunday.

Maybe you guys will get it right this time tongue.gif I hope rain up.gif

0% of rain in almost all local weather web sites. Only a small chance of light rain for friday in late afternoon and at night.
panzani
Well, this may sound like witchcraft, but 9 out of 10 times it rains in 1st/2nd November in São Paulo, since I was born. And I was born just after the Big Bang...wink.gif

This is the service I plan my barbacues based on.

So far rain on friday only.
panzani
These are the services I plan mines, saudoso: Wessel & Bassi... wink.gif

Weather.com gives clouds on Friday, scattered showers on Saturday and showers on Sunday.

Temperatures in between 18 and 22 for the whole weekend.
Andromeda
Even if there isn't rain...

It looks to be alot cooler than last year which means Ferrari wont have the temperature advantage.

I think the weather forecast is more accurate when it's only predicting a few days. Whatever you do don't use the bbc weather forecast, they seem to change their minds quite often
stevvy1986
the bbc weather forecast isnt even worth thinking about looking at-doesnt give a % chance of rain, where specifically it might be or when it might be,or for how long, its just a waste of time,so NEVER use it

One of two things are happening here:

1) The mainstream forecasts are VERY wrong.
2) The local forecasts are VERY wrong.

I've just read on the link I posted that predictions from friday on are pure automatic ones, with no analisys. I guess they will update it tomorrow.
dutra
In http://www.tempoagora.com.br the rain at friday may be in the afternoon. Now there's a 30% chance of rain during saturday morning only and still no rain for sunday.

IMO, I consider the mainstream outlets more reliable as they (arguably) have more information to their exposure than the local outlets.

Also, I don't think that's updated on a constant basis.
dutra
They just created a special page for F1 and the prediction is rain for friday and showers saturday and sunday.

Update (6 Days To Go) :

http://www.accuweather.com/world-forecast-...0Paulo&metric=1

Friday, Oct 31 - Rain
Saturday, Nov 1 - Warmer with rain
Sunday, Nov 2 - Mostly cloudy

http://weather.msn.com/tenday.aspx?wealocations=wc:BRXX0232

Friday, Oct 31 - Cloudy with drizzle - 85% chance
Saturday, Nov 1 - Cloudy with drizzle/PM Rain - 85% chance
Sunday, Nov 2 - Slight chance of thunder - 90% chance

http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/busi...topnav_business

Friday, Oct 31 - Showers - 60%
Saturday, Nov 1 - Scattered T-Storms - 60%
Sunday, Nov 2 - Scattered T-Storms - 40%

Looking at this, I am expecting at least *some* wet track times. I'd prefer a wet qualifying session than a wet race; wet qualifying and dry race could be good with unpredictable grid positions.

That's interesting as that's virtually the opposite to what Autosport say - they say rain Friday; with a chance of showers Saturday and Sunday.

Friday, Oct 31 - Rain
Saturday, Nov 1 - Windy in the afternoon

http://www.weather-forecast.com/locations/...orecasts/latest

Friday, Oct 31 - Rain showers - 3mm
Saturday, Nov 1 - Rain showers - 4mm
Sunday, Nov 2 - Very cloudly

Friday looks wet. That's in the probable range. Depending on who you believe, Saturday and Sunday are not yet "definite" as such at the moment, thus it's unlikely we'll have a clear picture at this stage in preceedings. By Thursday, I would say we should have a clear indication of whether it's rain or shine for Sunday. The forecasts at the moment suggest possible damp conditions. Temperatures across the range are low as well.

I dunno I think he prefer it wet. Give him an edge over the competition and also brings other into play and able to beat Massa who could well struggle...

I assume that's over the day, not just in a convenient (or inconvenient if you're driving a Ferrari) 2 hour window?

Well it's got 6mm Sunday morning, 2mm in the afternoon... but we know what happens when it rains in Brazil!!!

My point is with this forecast, it seems unaminous, most sites seem in agreement unlike the past few races where one or two sites tend to disagree.

It's a close call, and wet races are more volatile. However, I think that Lewis would prefer a wet race. In the dry, Massa is pretty much a lock to be in the top 2, so the pressure is on Lewis to not screw up. In the wet, Massa is unlikely to be near the top, so the task gets much easier for Lewis.

Turn 3, remember in 2003 it turned into a river.

IF it is wet, please DON'T have a SC start.
