The last race of the season, one last time we can fancy what will happen before a five months break (sniff!).
What are your predictions?
Mine:
1.Massa
2.Raikkonen
3.Hamilton
4.Alonso
5.Trulli
6.Heidfeld
7.Vettel
8.Kubica
with everyone laudating Hamilton afterwards on a measured, champion-worthy drive.
You are always as good as your last race. So the many mistakes of Lewis in 2008 will be quickly forgotten by most.

Hamilton has technical problem (it has to happen one day this season), Massa becomes the champion, Kubica defends his 3rd position in WDC table by 1 or 2 points. But you know, it's only wild guess!

Too truth. F1 can't stand two great season finales in a row! Oh, wait a minute - how the hell it stood 4 great races in a row lately?
1. Raikkonen
2. Massa
3. Alonso
4. Kovalainen
5. Heidfeld
6. Kubica
7. Vettel
8. Rosberg
Hamilton dnf with engine failure in lap 32.
Brazilian Grand Prix will be raced in warm conditions, so this benefits Ferrari and Toyota.
History will repeat itself again. In 2007 Hamilton had his only car problem of the season (don't mean punctures among them) in the most decisive moment of the season. Same happens in 2008.
1 Massa
2 Raikkonen
3 Alonso
4 Kubica
5 Trulli
6 Glock
7 Hamilton
8 Heidfeld
Ferrari WDC by 1 point AGAIN.

True, yet if we think of Interlagos 2006, THOSE laps that Michael Schumacher put in, they WERE exciting.
But in a sense Schumacher was similarly (and strangely) incapacitated back then like Hamilton in 2007....
So who will get the odd karma this time round?
Massa or Hamilton?

I'm not a betting man but I'll take this one. Hamilton's mistakes as well as a few made up quotes will be thrown around with gay abandon for some time to come here. Some still call him craneboy.
I think the first three places will be Massa, Hamilton, Raikkonen. After that, I couldn't guess.
I'm fairly confident it will be:
1. Massa
2. Raikonnen
3. Hamilton
Rest not so sure, but I think Alonso will be 4th or 5th

Maybe, but it feels better to see someone clinch the title with a victory. If Hamilton has to win, I want to see him on the top step at Interlagos.

True, if you win, win convincingly. But in F1, the Hollywood movie endings rarely go down.
Mind you, the script this year has been borderline tabloid. Complete with tabloids. Thanks Max for proving even old buggers can still bugger.

With no chance for Massa to win the championship, he'll not yield a victory. With Hamilton in third he'd win the WDC with no team orders from Scarletta Murderia Barnmarlo.
But if Hamilton blew a motor on the last lap I'm sure kimi would press the pit lane speed button "by accident". Lead cars, finishing places....
It will be either insanity or a sleeper.

As pacwest says above ; Kimi has a big lead, Hamilton makes the last lap there's no need for him to give up the win. Then again 2nd is good enough for Massa should Hamilton fail to score so maybe Kimi just romps home. And upsets the crowd.

I'm loving this showdown. Appreciate Ham/Macca combo, but love Ferrari. Thoughts of Senna/Prost taking each other out to decide the championship. I hope nobody goes medieval! My thoughts are Lewis will keep it clean (he has to-bodyguards, anyone?), but my hope is that Massa wins the WDC. However, should Lewis win the race, Massa second and Kimi third for example, I would love to see the two Ferrari drivers stick the Mum down the back of his driver's suit in fun, and then hoist LH to their shoulders. It would clear the air, be good for the sport, and Lewis would surely deserve it! On another note, isn't great how tight this really has been? Think about the fact that most of MS's WDC's have been with an accumulation of well over 100 points, and yet this year it's under 100. Good times!

Ham and Massa will crash into each other, get into a fistfight throw their helmets at each other and cause other cars to crash. The FIA will punish both by taking away 10 points out of each other and give them million dollar fines. Kubica will win the race and win the WDC by 1 point!

This is my prediction as well.
Any problems like penalties etc for McLaren may come before the race in qualifying.. I hope Lewis has a good engine.
He will need Heikki's help too, the Fin has to get amongst them, especially Fernando, he has to keep him away from Hamilton.
Speculating is fun, predicting if you like.
I hope Lewis Hamilton is Champion this weekend, it looks as though Ferrari have the Constructors so they may tell Felipe it's totally up to him to do the job of winning the Drivers Championship.
I am looking forward to a five month break, I can't help myself watching it, it is becoming a masochistic excercise now.. it is slowly becoming a game rather than a simulation, if you get my meaning....
I miss Ayrton and if you want to watch great racing, may I humbly suggest Irish Road Racing.. is awesome!
I hope you all enjoy the last 2008 Grand Prix, I am sure there will be much warmth flowing through this forum on Sunday night.

I'm not mocking you, but why predict that Rosberg will finish fourth, that the Force India drivers will finish in the top five, or for that matter; that Hamilton will finish seventh??
What points to any of this being likely? OK, seventh for Hamilton, I guess that can always happen with a knocked-off front-wing or a puncture, but this prediction is probably more a wish than the result of a thought-process based on a likely outcome of the seasons last race, seeing how things have been in the other GP-weekends this year.
I expect Ferrari to be marginally quicker on this track (the compounds probably suit McLaren better, but relatively warm temperatures will tip it slightly in Ferrari's favour) so a 1-2 for them wouldn't surprise me. Common sense then says that Hamilton will join them on the podium.

Its honestly hard to guess the exact positions on the podium given the last race in China but if its a clean race I'm expecting both Ferraris plus Hamilton on the podium.
But here is my prediction
1. Massa
2. Hamilton
3. Raikkonen
If anyone was paying attention to the lap times last year Hamilton was going abit faster than Raikkonen towards the end that might be because he was determined to get that championship. I can see Hamilton having a clean fight with Raikkonen with Hamilton edging slightly faster if he carries the same discipline into Brazil.
But then again I may be wrong since McLaren will probably be yelling at Hamilton in team radio to "EASE THE F*** OFF!!!!" if he is in a winning position for the championship near the end of the race.
Provided no Ferrari International Assistence involved, I have a feeling that Ferrari might be making too many assumptions that their car will go better than Shanghai- they could easily self-destruct and Kovalainen may finally get his act together at the last moment (a bit like Damon Hill in Adelaide 1995) resulting in the first McLaren 1-2 of the season and the snatching back of the contructors title...

Hamilton will win it, retire quietly from the sport, and the media wont have to talk endlessly about him anymore (much to everyone's relief).

Well the FIA is to blame in any case.
The knowledgeable people on this board clearly think they're utterly corrupted, the power is all theirs, so it's bound to be a fix either way.
Only thing of interest if they are clumsy at it (that's if Massa is their chosen one), or if they indeed cleverly fooled us all year to still give the trophy to Lewis in the end.

Give Massa credit for having some fine races in 2008, and picking up the pace when Kimi was MIA.
But if he wins the title - then full credit for that should be given to the people who made it happen. The FIA and the stewards at Valencia, Spa, and Fuji.
Without ther respective, inaction, and actions, Hamilton would have already won the title.

Guessing the finishing order for the race
1) Kimi - no need to give up the win if hamilton is in the points
2) Massa
3) Hamilton
4) a mixed bag of people some of them having spent the day just trying to get out of the way of the leaders to avoid anyone making accusations later

Oct 26 2008, 18:10
1-Massa
2-Kimi
3-Kubica
4-Heikki
5-Heidfeld
6-Alonso
7-Hamilton
Alonso will overtake Hamilton in the last lap, from P.7 to P.6, Hamilton will loose the championship
or Hamiton will win from pole.
Think:
1. Massa
2. Kimi
3. Hamilton
4. Alonso
5. Kubica
6. Kova
7. Heidfield
8. Trulli
Wish:
1. Massa
2. Kimi
3. Alonso
4. Kubica
5. Kova
6. Heidfield
7. Trulli
8. Glock
Hamilton qualify 3rd and DNF after an incident in T1 with Alonso.
Massa wins it in front of its home crowd, that would be amazing to see!

...highly improbable though

I'd say this as well, but last year Kimi came to Brazil on good form and still looked like Massa was a tiny bit quicker. I think Massa clicks better with Interlagos and will win it not needing team orders. This if Ferrari has a small edge as we expect, of course.

With rain a strong possibility on Sunday, it could be:
1. Hamilton
2. Vettel
3. Alonso
4. Glock
5. Heidfeld
6. Trulli
7. Massa
8. Kubica
Not boding well for Ferrari, Lewis might win the WDC with a 15-points differential, that would be quite dominant, even if we look away from the inconsistencies in rules interpretation that we have seen throughout 2008...
Anyone that has Kimi just in front of Massa has not been paying attention.
If he doesn't move over for the points, he'll do it for the home crowd.
I predict a boring race with a dominant Ferrari.
Massa
Kimi
Hamilton
Heidfeld
Alonso
Kubica
Kovi
Vettel
If it rains;
Hamilton
Heidfeld
Alonso
Kimi
Kubica
-big gap-
Trulli

Rubins
Rosberg
Massa dnf
