Then 2 sets for FP3, 1 prime, 1 option.

Then 8 sets for the qual and the race, 4 primes and 4 options, remembering that you have to use bot the prime and the option for the race, unless you use a wet weather tyre.

Man, cool down. The more i read your posts the more you sound like being too emotional. I know you want massa to win, but posting heartfelt posts won't make his chances any better.
rodlamas
James Allen's opinion

Resume

- Mclaren have some work to do on their softer tyres.
- Massa is the man to beat.
- Mclaren is still faster than anyother team apart Ferrari (ran heavy today).
- Softer tyre degradation is a problem for everyone (maybe apart Ferrari).
- Rain will almost certainly play a card during sunday's race.

Thanks, didn't realise it was so many, I must have been thinking pre Bridgestone. So 1 set of each per FP session.

Mclaren will play pretty safe for the race but I don't know if that'll work with rain predicted :\

But im all for a rain race. It would be great for lewis to show if he really deserves to be champ and for ferrari they got on top of their problems in the wet. It would also be a good opportunity for massa to show wether hes any decent in the rain and excellent opportunities for Williams and Rosberg. Fingers crossed, those guys really need points.

Did you even look at the page that opens when you click your link? It shows highest precip of the entire week right when the race is to take place. Don't confuse the history chart at the top with the forecast at the bottom. And GMT is basically British timezone. Brazil currently has GMT -2 so the race is gonna start at 16 GMT.

So i don't know what your point is. But GFS is predicting the same down pour on sunday afternoon as everyone else is. confused.gif

Possibly but keep in mind Ferrari will be in the same position. Since Ferrari have less grip than McLaren in the rain its possible that Massa may get a DNF instead of everyone saying Hamilton will because yadda yadda yadda "someone will crash into him" or "He will get an engine failure that he is due for" Just because he has not had an engine failure in what like 2 years doesn't mean he will... Heck he may go another season without any mechanical failure whatsoever.

McLaren even said they slightly lowered the power on Hamiltons car to reduce the like hood of that happening. The chances of him getting an engine failure are highly unlikely (Not saying it won't happen but given the circumstances I really can't see him DNFing for an engine blowout) but anything else could happen in the race which could see Massa taking the crown off Hamilton or Hamilton driving a glorious race to the end of the golden road to become the youngest F1 champion.

I assume they didn't want to waste a new set or wanted to see what the worn set was like.

which means he'll get passed by both ferrari's, both renaults one Toro Rosso and Kubica in the race finishing 7th thus losing the title to Massa.. Mark my words..

I certainly wouldn't anything can happen in this wet weather. I wouldn't be suprised if both Massa and Hamilton crash out in tomorrows race. Another Kubica, Alonso, Kovalainen win would be something good to see

No i wouldn't like that. I already ordered Enkei to get a DC or Mark Webber win organized. lol.gif

DC fuels for 7 laps to get final pole? Then holds up Massa to let Hamilton scamper? stoned.gif

No much more subtle than that. The plan is to take the trophy to Milton Keynes. cool.gif

Well if today's practice sessions are anything to go buy, Mclaren have no problem with straight-line speed; they topped every speed trap.

If he fuels for 7 laps then he wont get out of Q3 wink.gif

Any concern about McLarens use of the tyres?
DaleCooper
Brazil rarely throws up a predictable result, so I would gamble on an unfamiliar finishing order, especially if the conditions are mixed. Heck, Vettel could win. But overall I think Ferrari will have the speed to compete for the win if nothing unfortunate happens.

You mean last race?

Yesterday - Friday - the teams don't use their race engines. They do on Saturday though.

Concerning the Ferrari and this track - IMO its not sensible to compare the F2007 with the F2008. Most obviously, the F2008 has a shorter wheelbase than the F2007. And the McLaren this year has a longer wheel base. In fact there is some clear evidence, that this years McLaren is more like the F2007 was than the F2008 is ... funny about that. wink.gif (to all you Stepney paranoiks out there).

I doubt McLaren will push Hamilton's car this race though.

I remember a few years ago, was it 2003? - that MS only needed to finish 8th, to seal the title. I think the race was in Japan. He drove horribly all day - even running into the back of his brother's Williams, and he had to go in and change the front wing. Still he crawled home in 7th or 8th place - and won another WDC. Sometimes playing it safe runs contrary to how a driver operates. So if Hamilton does play it safe, for me the question is whether that will hurt him as much as it hurt MS all those years ago ... as for Massa, he has to at least come second, so its relatively easy for him - drive the wheels of the thing, and keep out of trouble. If its wet though and he gets caught behind some cars - then he may panic and then he'll be in big trouble.

If its a dry start with heavy rain threatening, I wonder how Massa will handle all that? The race starts for us Aussies at 3am I think ... not sure if I'll watch it live ... I think not.

Yes they turned his engine down to prevent a blowout in Saturday Practice/Qualifying/Race

If he gets an engine blowout god help him now but I highly doubt it will happen. But we will get a good idea of their final setup for the Qualifying and Race and see where Hamilton stands (Speedwise) in Saturday Practice

Everyone saw what happened last year, and by the looks of it, methinks this will be another Ferrari duet. The question is now whether Lewis will ride aggressively or not. If he does and goes for pole then he's most likely taking a gamble with the engine. If he does not and settle for 3rd then I think he has a pretty good chance.

Overall I think Lewis has this one in the bag though... All this engine/tyre problem stuff I think is just being used as a tactic to deviate attention from him.

I didn't watch the FPs very closely but it appeared to me that when it rained, it didn't rain heavily.

Ferrari has been often very quick since the beginning of the season on intermediate, and specially drying conditions (ex: final laps of Kimi at Monaco before pushing out Sutil) - seems to me their problems only increase when the track gets really, really wet. So, this is nothing really new here...
pingu666
dont think anyone went to inters, so it didnt rain hard. i think massa is on top form tbh

i surpose a interesting point would be if it rains and lewis goes out for whatever reason, can massa make it to 2nd place ?

I´m not sure this is about whether the Mac is good enough or reliable enough. It´s about whether Lewis can keep himself together, and the first signs in this regard are not good. In both trainings he locked up and flat spotted his tyres when he was going for his final fast lap, something he almost never does under normal circumstances.
Lewis wants to claim this title the way Tom Cruise would in a Hollywood production, with a win. It´s not in his nature to settle for a place in the top 6. It wouldn´t suit his image of himself.
The pressure is getting to him, make no mistake.

Can anyone shed some light on the relative pace between Ferrari and McLaren from yesterdays running?

It looks about chin level, its quite a way below the mirror line.

my gut feeling is that ferrari are well ahead this weekend, but that hamilton should be apple to get sec pos. in qual with less fuel then kimi, but if it stays dry i exspect ferrari one two in the race,

either the mclaren suffers from balance problems or hamilton were pushing the car to much because he constantly locked the wheels
Vegetableman
Just below the visor I think, if you watch just as he exits his garage you can see where his hand goes as he closes the visor.
Of course DC has a cube head so that probably is near chin height. If Schumi were wearing it at chin height you'd probably be looking at the bottom of the steering wheel.
Paul Hurdsfield
I've often thought that with todays technology they could have two cameras, one on each side of the helmet in line with the drivers eyes, surely this would give a better drivers perspective .

Q3 ends with results, in one respect, like those of Q2: the first 17 drivers covered by less than one second, with JB and the Force India drivers putting in the slowest three times.

OK, there's no way in hell that's DC. I saw him look at the right rear view mirror twice at the beginning of the lap!
