True, however Hamilton always looks like he is about to go off

It's an FOM feed for practice.
It's really frustrating that they are showing the WDC winners cars.

Still no word on the diffusers.
Minicoop831
Kimi is off in his own world again, 20

He must be doing long stints for tyre degredation and such other stuff

Me too
skid solo
Sutil is on the softs too and he just reported the car is undriveable with the track temp/ tyre combinations
Minicoop831
I heard that and the other guy on the radio said sorry mate that's just the tyre
skid solo
Seems they are experiencing colder temps than expected and the softs just aren't getting up to temp.

Hamilton just reported the car is bottoming out underbraking... running too low?
skid solo
Massa on softs had a big moment. looks like they are driving in rain!
Enkei
Good God, were dead last.
Minicoop831
Are mclaren going to throw in a few hot laps at the end of the session?
Urawa
I expected them to be more competitive, at least here on this unique track, but it seems that McLaren told the truth...
Minicoop831
All über diffuser teams are killing the competition

I dont think we are getting a clear picture at the moment... Track is v cold and everyones slow
Enkei
We really are 1~2 seconds off pace and probably won't get out of Q3. We're completely toast.

The car is bottoming out because they're setting the ride height (too) low to overcome the rear downforce shortcomings.
Minicoop831
Hammy is giving it his all sparks are flying everywhere
skid solo
At least we are not last! blush.gif

That was a great save by lewis there at the end of the session
skid solo
And so begins DIFFUSERGATE
mclarensmps
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I don't think we're 1.7 seconds off the pace tongue.gif

Though the bet b/w me and paranoik0... it's gonna be close haha
Minicoop831
All right for me it time to go sleep

Hopefully tommarow we will pull a uber diffusor out of our asses, if not we are looking at a very though race & year

Go mclaren anyways we will rebound, at least it is the best looking car on the grid

Didn't see FP1, but FP2 looked woeful. At least I'm now mentally prepared for seeing a Mclaren being lapped on Sunday Morning and have plenty of time to buy in Bourbon and nail some pillows to the wall in advance.

Still, there used to be a saying in Lloyds of London about shipping losses, which went "You draw a line above the Titanic and work your way upwards" which is how I'm going to have to view this year, as hopefully this is the nadir already.

Norbert says the 8 tenth between Ferrari and McLaren now might be the real gap between those two teams.

And even Ferrari don't seem to be anywhere near the front. A podium has never been further away.

Ok, wake me up when the 2010 season starts. I'll skip this one.

Well, tomorrow we`ll see how big the gap really is.

I paid carefull attention to the long runs in FP2 and the Macs didn't look too far away.
What Mclaren didn't do was put in bangers earlier on in that practice. We should not forget KOVA's pace in FP1

We will see tomorrow.

Where did he say that?
I seriously think that strategy will play a huge role in Sunday's race.

Premiere TV
I also think it will, as McLaren will be allowed to choose their strategy after they failed to get in Q3...

I know, that`s why I think that FP today was just an extension of winter testing.

Come on there is no way they make Q3 - well not Lewis - he cant even see the breaking points as the car is too low. This means he cant attack the way he does - he'd lose time s1 and S3

That was the info I received and I honestly don't accept that we are as bad as the team were making out.
Has anyone noticed that the team have began to back away from saying that things are really bad save LH who was unable to match KOVA's pace today.

I agree with Peroa, FP2 looked more like an extension of winter testing especially in the KOVA's case.
LH seems to be having setup issues. Lets see what the team will come up with tomorrow.

We were actually faster than the Toyotas on long runs in FP2. The only team that appeared better than us was Ferrari but not by much even though they ran shorter stints and used the softer option a lot more than we did.

We lost most time in sector 1 and 3 but quite competitive in sector 2.

The times may not look too good in FP2 but the reality is we were better than those times indicate.
bogi
McLaren time in FP2 are 0,4 slower than FP1. Maybe we can expect 0,2-0,3 sec more, even with that there is no chance.

Kova's time from FP1 would put him on 16th place in FP2 instead of 17th. So far I'm sure that on Sunday I will drink a little bit more then I usually do in order to wash away the bitterness... :\

Hopefully I'm wrong...
