After Hondas vote of confidence, Barrichello is made to wait until Honda has tested Bruno Senna, why doesn't he retire?

Because he wants to keep driving so why burn his bridges?
Why should he? He did very good job this season, beat Button, he feels that he is good enaugh to continue. I'd give him a chance.

I'd give him a chance too but the fact is, Honda doesn't value his efforts more than a rookie GP2 driver with an slightly unproven record. If your employer doesn't have more confidence in your abilities than that, it's time to retire. He will never get the support needed anyways.
They're giving Bruno the best possible chance to impress... two weeks of preparation and then the test. Even so, I would think that he won't be able to get up to the speed that the current drivers have shown. I'm sure the sponsors want Senna, so if they want to keep Rubens they need to show conclusive data that Bruno's not yet ready. That may be what they're thinking here... if Senna is super quick they let him drive next year (why not?), and in the more likely chance that he's a bit off the pace they test him (alonside Wurz?) and Barrichello gets one more year.
Rubens sucked big time with leaving Ferrari, now look at his Honda years. And Honda does't seem to have any respect for Rubens.

Rubens beat button? Have any numbers to back that up? I thought they where pretty evenly matched. Perhaps only silverstone rubens was better but even then as soon as jenson switched his tyres, he was pretty equal in pace.

rubens has seemingly had the measure of him recently, before that they where equal, and before before button was ahead

If Honda need to replace anyone, it should be Button. Maybe they could get Fisichella instead...

Why would honda keep a playboy Button and sack Rubens
Is it just possible that they have a little more information than you?

Button and Fisichella are both useless old failures who NEED to be DUMPED from F1 so as to allow fresh and exciting young talent to enter F1.
