I presume that's Bernie who painted the sign but what has pink got to do with anything?

Havent seen it and cant see the link but pink might have to do with "dare to wear it pink" for the UK? national breast cancer awareness day/week/month?
Possibly world national actually
It's a single picture pane of someone (bernie), being arrested by the police after painting the sign at the enterance to McLaren pink
I read it as being connected to

Bernie say the racism remarks were a joke in the article and that painting the sign was a joke in the cartoon.
I guess that must be it. If it is then sorry Jim, that one sucked ;)
*ducks*
I thought it was because the FIA had made every effort to have Ferrari win the title. Ferrari is red, McLaren used red instead. The "wrong" team using red to celebrate the championship.

For what it's worth I didn't get it either...

I thought it was linked to both the "racism joke" thing and to the expression of McLaren possibly being "in the pink" after their title win.

So subtle that nobody got it. Glad it wasn't just me then!
I thought it was in reference to the McLaren gear they wear?????
no?
I don't get it either.

Add me to the list of those who didn't understand it. I fail to find the humor in his works...
I've been a bit ambivalent about Bamber's work, I've found it amusing and confusing in equal measure.
But this weeks' Mark Webber effort, for me, is in very poor taste.
It's not only not funny, but actually a bit disgusting.

I thought it was one of his better ones.
Really? I'd class myself as a fan of Webber's and thought it was quite humorous (for a change). Nobody died so perhaps you're being a bit sensitive?
I dunno, for me, making fun of something where someone has suffered quite a shocking injury, so soon, isn't appropriate.
But I suppose half the time that's what makes things amusing, just for me, in this instance, it's not and I find it rather a bit tasteless.

He just doesn't make me laugh the way Bruce did. To me, Bamber's just not funny. Period.
During the season he seems for the most part to be on the money, but the last 2 cartoons kind of have me puzzled as to exactly what he is getting at.
This week's offering is certainly much better I thought!

Guess I need to say it again.
Might be a tad late here, but if you read the article on Bernie as linked above, he says that fans 'blacking up' were just having a bit of a joke. So he paints the McLaren stand 'flesh-coloured', as in the colour of white flesh (rather than milkshake pink, which is how it looks in the cartoon).

Wow! He actually produced something funny! I'm impressed.
