I am glad that Journal is not over at all. We are just getting it piece by piece.

So all that mourning announcements I see as unnecesarry wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif

But, why I am writing: I just bloody love Dieter Rencken's articles. I spotted him once at Belgium 2008 with some FIA personnel, I assume he is good friend of that kind of personnel so has good access to all that deep inside information. However, I totally admire the way how he can tell the 'information' without actually reveal it! Se hee can keep the trust of those his friends.

Let alone the additional challenge for non-english speaking people like I am to read his articles, but I can cope with that ;)

So, just one piece of feedback smoking.gif up.gif Very well done.

Dieter is the man at this site. God it was awful when he left for a while frown.gif

As I feared, a week has gone past without a Weekly Grapevine.

The one good thing about the all-in-one format of the old journal is you knew you were going to definitely have a fresh article from your favourite columnist at least once a week.

Seems that has been lost in the new format frown.gif And it just happens to be my favourite one who is first to slip up frown.gif

F-ing hell dude. The Grapevine comes out on Tuesday, the day isn't finished yet and we have it in our hands currently.

I want my grapevine! It's wednesday dang it :-)
gloryforixseal
why didnt you do the change over a weekend like i thought was best practice do minimize actual downtime, inform us the the change was taking place and warn us that maybe we did need to worry a little bit?

What are you referring to?

Like the new Autosport Plus look up.gif Easy to see when I'm reading content which I'm paying for and the value for money I'm getting.

There were some nice articles this week as well. up.gif

As much as like the new format for the new Autosport Plus site, I miss knowing who the author of the article is before opennig it (or, as in the older days, the tite of the collumn)

I'll open one of Dieters articles in a flash, but will wait for a longer bathroom break at work to read one of Dodgins'.

This was considered, but ultimately there wasn't enough space for the author's name, especially on the home page. However it is available in the tool tip on the link if you hover for a moment.

You can see the column titles on this page: http://www.autosport.com/features/

It's now Friday and no Dieter frown.gif

How are others finding the new 'features' format now that it has been around a while?

Personally, I feel I prefer the older journal format. I know there's a weekly digest but it's kinda pointless if the main writer you want to read no longer is guaranteed to have a piece on the site every 7 days.

I have gotten used to it.

Since I trawl the site every day, I don't need a weekly round-up of features. I also 'buy' the argument that by publishing the features as they are done, they won't go out of date by being 'kept' for collective publishing a week after they were written.

Dieter's last article, for example, was published on the 21st of October.

Yes I look forward to his column and it's shame when writers you regularly enjoy stop appearing for some reason

Hear, hear.

However, I did like the fact that I could print the entire journal each week and read all of it in my armchair like a, well... armchair enthousiast.wink.gif
