Once again(thank god!) here in Brazil we will see almost all the sessions of 2009 season LIVE. The FP1 and 2 will be broadcasted by the Globosat channels SPORTV and SPORTV2(pay tv), that also shows the post race press conference live and an 1 hour edited version of the race in the prime time of the sunday during the whole year. Globo TV(free tv) will show the qualifyings and races live and in 16:9 in 14 cities now and probably over 30 until the end of the year. The times for the Australian GP are:

(Brasilia's Time)

FP 1:
26/3
22:30 - SPORTV2 - live

FP 2:
27/3
02:30 - SPORTV - live

FP 3:
28/3
00:00 - NO LIVE TV COVERAGE

QUALIFYING:
28/3
03:00 - GLOBO TV - live

RACE:
29/3
03:00 - GLOBO TV - live
04:30 - POST RACE PRESS CONFERENCE - SPORTV - live
22:30 - SPORTV - on tape

On the radio, we have tree options. Jovem Pan, Bandeirantes/BandNews and Globo/CBN. All of them broadcasts only the race and has live streaming in their web sites.

Well... no. They're building a brand new place for the new antennas, but for 2010. The place were today are located the analogical one's is full. The association of the tv stations is trying to get an authorization to use the TV Câmara's place. Michel Temer already signed but asked for a technical review. Antônio Berbel, from Globo DF, said that they have to see if there's room for everybody there. Maybe in 60 days, but probably more...

The 14 cities for the first race are:

São Paulo
Belo Horizonte
Rio de Janeiro
Vitória
Campinas
Florianópolis
Porto Alegre
Salvador
Goiânia
Curitiba
Uberlândia
Ribeirão Preto
São José do Rio Preto
Teresina(tests)

I heard about that. Its a project by Niemeyer (as if we need more of those) which will cost 10x what a normal antenna would. rolleyes.gif

And I'm an architect, so...

Estou sem internet aqui.
Quer dizer, só tenho no trabalho. No hotel não dá pra sentar e ver uma corrida toda. O PC é meio lerdo e tme que ficar alimentando a máquina com nota de dólar de tempos em tempos.

Does anyone wants to have me over for the race?
I`ll bring my own beers and chips.

Aint there a sports bar where you can watch it?

Some new details. For SPORTV the hosts will be Sérgio Mauricio and Lito Cavalcanti. In GLOBO it won't be Galvão Bueno! clap.gif clap.gif He will be in Quito, Equador, for the football. So the team will be Cleber Machado, Reginaldo Leme, Luciano Burti and probably Carlos Gil, but i'm not sure about him.

It starts well! Good omen for the brazilian drivers.

It's funny, it's not until you have to put up with the so partial SPEED channel in the USA, that you actually start missing galvao bueno and the whole globo circus, as dumb as some of the things they can sometimes say...

I say if the damn channel is gonna be partial, they better be partial to their compatriots drivers! speed channel guys having no american there, they are all pulling for hamilton, and as soon as hamilton wins it the guy can't think of a better line to say other than "and he becomes the first man of color to win the f1 championship" what the hell is that?

I do wish globo internacional would have bought the rights to transmit it all around... they may not always say the right things, but they always pass you the right feelings about it... and because i never heard a better commentator than reginaldo leme, great memory, doesn't try to guess what this or that driver is thinking... he comments on facts more, rather than on possibilities.

Also over the speed channel, the globo team seems more like they are actually "experiencing" f1, when on speed channel it always sounds like everyone is simply watching it sitting on their studios back in usa, therefor making stupid clueless guesses, there is only one guy that actually knows what hes talking about (too bad i forgot his name)

Cleber Machado is as stupid as it can get.

Sergio Mauricio thinks the parade lap is for warming the engines up.

oh but oh! have those ever try to imitate a ferrari engine with their voices? or even do a ross brawn over the radio impression in the middle of a qualifying session?

yeah man, nobody beats speed channel in stupidity. just from thinking about it im getting exciting, because for a few races it's gonna be in the middle of the night (in the americas time). so i can only assume what kind of horsecrap that will come up during their transmissions. And that crap they would never do if they were broadcasting another sport on tv, when the races are shown on fox channel they cut the crap... but when it's on speed, i suppose they assume the only ones watching are a few americans and most are people from other countries that are for one reason or another in the usa, therefor don't care what they say, cuz they have to put up with it if they want to watch their so loved f1.

I really like the fact that we don't have comercial brakes during races or even in the practice sessions!

yeah rub it in! lol in usa you see alonso more during the ING commercials than you do in the actual race, it's amazing. They still don't seem to get that at any given time something amazing can take place, wether it's a huge crash, a massive mess, or a great and defining overtake, then they have to replay it, and you miss more LIVE racing.

If we wanted it that way we wouldn't be watching it live, we would watch it primetime at 8pm, some people (ie me) needs to know things in real time, 3 minutes after is way too late lol.

Turn off the TV volume and tune in to CBN internet radio. I like their commentary. Also, you have Jovem Pan, which I believe is also broadcast in the web.

Hello all, long time I don't post here.

I never listened the radio broadcast during the race, only on Sundays of Brazil GP leading up to the race. Does it carry the live track sounds like the TV? Cause if it does Galvão is history!

Yes.. they carry...

the "problem" is that most of the radio's team is in Brazil... but at least Jovem Pan has a great reporter that covers the race "onsite/inloco"

More good news.

For the first time SPORTV2 will show the 3rd practice session LIVE starting in around 3 hours, at midnight, brazilian's local time. And there's more. At 11:15AM of this saturday they will show on SPORTV the full qualifying session on tape and on sunday there's one more scheduled broadcast of the race on tape at 1:30PM and in full length. The 10:30PM edited version remains the same.

Sadly, tomorrow I have to wake up early, otherwise I'd stay awake to watch the 3am qualifying.

Just to confirm two things. will show FP3 live and they will also show the Qualifying session at noon on saturday on tape. Although apperently they don't have a breach in the weekend schedules to show on tape the full length of the race on sunday, only the highlights at 22:30.

well, for the first 3 rounds globo wasn't planning to send a full team. cleber, reginaldo and burti stayed in São Paulo (yes, not in rio). the feed was received in sp and then sent by optical fiber to rio, for the head of the network. the same thing will happen for malaysia and china and probably also for the 4th round.

after that they will probably send full team for almost every rounds, because galvão already lives in europe. they only need to send reginaldo and burti.

you can start looking for a set-top-box. apperently Globo DF is the only tv station in the city that still belives that is possible to start the digital broadcasting this month already, in APRIL 22. and they are really working hard for that. i'll keep my eyes on this subject for more updates in the next days.

That makes alot of sense, Its usually when the show arrives in europe is when attentions get higher, but i suppose they will send the full team after the european leg, to suzuka, and abu dhabi, its a shame the finale wont be in sampa... hopefully they will change it next year...

well, nothing. you will only see some diference with a set-top-box(with a UHF antenna) and a flat wide screen tv.

then instead of a 4:3 image you will see a 16:9 image, like movie screens.
