... after the season, that is.
Thread idea blatantly stolen from a german board I used to visit some years ago.
Here we go:
1. Jenson Button won't be Champion.
2. Lewis Hamilton will finish in the Top 3 of the final championship standings.
3. BMW will go looking for two new drivers for 2010 - voluntarily or not.
4. Piquet will beat Alonso in at least 4 races they both finish.
5. For at least 3 veteran drivers this will be the last season.
6. Valencia will be yet another snore fest ...
7. ... just in contrast to Hungary which will be a nailbiter.
8. Because of the financial crisis another manufacturer will quit.
9. Come May and June we will experiencing the usual accusations between some teams, which will nearly - but unsuccessfully - divide FOTA. Pretty soon Max chime in and heat up he debate.
10. Ron'n'Luca (a.k.a. The Trouble Twins) will finally succeed in severely cutting FIA's power. They won't get rid of Max entirely though.
and finally:
11. The WDC will be a Brazilian. But I wont stand up for this!
1. Jenson Button won't be Champion. - Agree
2. Lewis Hamilton will finish in the Top 3 of the final championship standings. - No

4. Piquet will beat Alonso in at least 4 races they both finish. - No (they would sack him after his 3rd

)

1. Agree
2. Agree
3. Don't agree
4. No, but only because they won't finish too many races together, otherwise he'll beat Alonso at least 4 time
5. Don't agree.
6. Agree.
7. I hope so because I'll be there.
8. Don't agree.
9. Of course, this is obvious.
10. I wish it happened.
and finally:
11. Maybe.
1. Won't bet on it. Seems the first few races will be his unless something drastic happens.
2. No
3. Maybe in Nick's case
4. If Alonso has poor reliability. On speed, HELL NO
5. No
6. Obvious
7. If it's wet
8. No
9. Well it's happening now.
10. No
and finally:
11. Maybe
On 1: I think it's all but certain. They need to keep developing and they need budget for that. Virgin might provide some, but they need stability in resources throughout the year. If they can keep developing constantly, they might make it. The advantage they have seems to be ~1 second, so they have quite a big buffer.
I think however, that Ferrari and McLaren will come closer as the season progresses, but perhaps it will be too late. The season is long still
Yawn. Cowards. No ideas of your own?

Piquet beat Alonso? Is his dad coming back into the sport? Or his mum?
Hamilton, Massa and the usual suspects will be back when they get fancy defusers of their own.
Button will not win the title, I think Massa will (which I do not want to happen, but I think it will happen). Ferraris resources are just to vast in comparison to people like Mr Brawn.

Ok here goes
1. Brawn GP / Virgin will win the WCC

5. Kimi will be linked with drinking and lapdancing clubs for 2010

10. Buemi will outscore Bourdais
Any my unoffical number 11: Eddie Jordan will talk utter shite all year.

I'll stick my head out.
1. The result from the first two races will not be changed, even if the protested diffusors are found illegal.
2. Massa will beat Raikonnen in the championship.
3. Toyota will not win a race this year either.
4. Button will not be the new champion.
5. Vettel will get (at least) twice as many points as Webber.

7. Hamilton will not be champion.
8. The Mercedes engine will be the one with the most race wins.
9. Force India will finish last.
10. Only cars with KERS will win races in the second half of the season.
1. Hamilton to win the WDC! Once the diffuser row ends the KERS teams start taking the top 5-6 positions during the 2nd half of the season.

3. This will be Piquets last year in F1.
4. Brawn staff will start leaving for Mclaren.

1. Alonso has a choice between Brawn and Ferrari for 2010, and chooses Brawn.
2. WDC is decided at the last race again.
3. Toyota withdraw, Honda buys the team (just kidding

)
4. Someone puts superleggera Ant Davidson in a kers car.

7, Brawn wcc.
8. DDD's are banned part way through the season.

Not a wish, I should say, just have an idea one of the others will always have a better weekend.

I`ll predict nothing. I thought Brawn was a testing bluff and now I feel a fool.
1. At least one GP will be Kers free (monaco maybe)
2. Everyone will have a Brawn diffusor by race 5
3. Red Bull will win Races and beat Renault in the WCC
4. Webber won't win races...
5. Brawn GP will be renamed Virgin leading to commontator gaffs galore as driver a takes out the Virgin, or driver b hits the Virgin from behind or theres smoke coming out of Button's Virgin, or looks like the rubbers blown on that Virgin even Barrichello walks sadly away from his broken Virgin
6. LB continues to post marginally above the gutter in his humour.
7. Monaco will have more safety cars than the Indy 500
8. Toyota will win a race (in the back of Rosberg's Williams)

Yes, I have an agenda. I want Williams to go bankrupt. That would be just deserts for the hard working Sauber team members, who have only one guy stopping their entry.
If Williams go belly up, then Sauber get to race. Given the fact that they are better than Williams, this would be the perfect result.

Let's not have this argument again. It's pretty plain that your agenda only chooses certain facts. Like, for example, the way Martin Whitmarsh expressed doubts over QADBAK's owners. Did you know that the QADBAK name is registered in the Virgin Islands, but is only a shell corporation? Did you know that one of their representatives, Russell King, recently had assets seized in a court investigation? Did you know that one of the Middle Eastern families it claims to represent denies any and all association with the group? Did you know that no-one knows who Lionel Fischer - the man QADBAK would have appointed to represent the team - actually is? There's a whole lot going on behind the scenes that nobody knows anything about, but which is making everyone more than a mite jittery. And since QADBAK needs unanimous approval to make the grid s a fourteenth team, FOTA only need to have one person block them. That person happens to be Frank Williams; for all we know, he agreed to block QADBAK as one of the conditions of the team rejoining FOTA, a kind of show of loyalty.
And it's not like every Sauber employee will be lining up for government supprt, will it? There's four new teams out there, all of whom will be in serious need of skilled people.

There are people here who know many people at Williams (and Brawn, and McLaren, and LiteSpeed, and so on and so forth). You just argued yourself into a hole from which there is no escape by making a statement which
QUOTE
is beyond contempt
Frank Williams is doing what others fear to do (because of their shareholders, primarily): speaking his mind and toeing the line. If the rules state that a team can't compete because they didn't sign the Concorde Agreement, why should *anyone* let them? BMW at a corporate level are to blame for this - not Williams, not FOTA, and (for once) not the FIA.
BTW your "use" of "quotes" around Sir Frank's title is disingenuous - he really does have a knighthood. And a Legion d'honneur, too. I dare say that he's rather more honourable than a significant percentage of people involved in motorsport at a similar level, bearing in mind that he's never sold his soul (or the company) to the highest bidder and walked away with millions.

1. Brawn GP and Branson will have a fairly public dispute.
2. Timo Glock will win a race.
3. Bourdais will be replaced mid-season.
4. McLaren will only get near to the pace at the very end of the European season.
5. Ferrari will be fully on the pace by the start of the European season.
6. It will not rain over the weekend of the British GP.
7. The Hungarian GP will be a wet race...
8. ...during which Jenson will crash out while leading.
9. The Malaysian GP will be stopped before the allotted time.
10. Williams will not race their flywheel KERS.
5 out of 10, well, you're average fortune teller

I'll bite!!!
1) We'll have a new first-time WDC this year
-> +12) Hamilton won't be in the top 3 -
> +13) Kubica will win al least 3 races this year
-> -14) Vettel will win at least 3 races this year, 2 of which will be wet races
-> +1 (except for the wet part!
)5) McLaren will catch up end of season and do a 1-2
-> Did catch up, no 1-2, so i'll give myself zero for this one! 6) Button will lead the first half season standing but will lose the second half
-> +17) Webber will be seriously outperformed, both in quali and race
-> -18) Piquet won't last the seaon
-> +19) The WDC will be either German or Polish
-> -110) Coulthart will drive one more race this year!
-> -15 good, 1 undecided, 4 wrong... Not too bad!
