Easier than making a new thread for each race for tv times etc.
Qualifying is at 10.30pm Saturday night (DELAYED) no surprises there.
Pre race show starts at 6pm and race airs live at 7pm (thank god)
Note: These times are for ONE HD in queensland, standard ten hasn't put times u yet but id say it would be a delayed race as per usual.
I started a thread in the RPM forum on the ten website titled "My Two Cents" feel free to voice your opinion and add to it as you see fit, hopefully SOMEONE from ten will read it.

Looks like the same times for One HD here in Sydney. Regular Channel 10 is showing the race after Dexter at 11:00pm.
Yesterday, One HD continued for half an hour after the race to show the press conference.
I'm very happy to have invested in the digital stuff a year ago, certainly paying dividends now.

The only thing i can say for standard 10 is that at least its dexter on before the GP. Sadly ive already seen the series, so it doesnt matter.
Ill be happy when One gets out to the sticks, but for now im just pretending we are in europe early.
According to the OneHD guide, Perth & Adelaide viewers will be getting the race live. This is an improvement on last year's effort by Ten, kudos to Ten/One.

Should we call them up and say thanks?
For me the jury is still out on the new BBC commentator, but first impressions weren't good.

Loved the ONE HD coverage on the whole, although we were exposed to the issue of taking a commentary feed from a non-commercial channel when Raikkonen went off - ONE were on a break and by the time they came back, the BBC guys had finished talking about it and the world feed replay was finished.
My other bug bear is putting ads in the middle of the quali phases - isn't this format designed for TV? Q3 is only 10 minutes long, but they couldn't resist putting ads in!
Lorenzo
Mar 30 2009, 09:28
I couldn't agree more about the quali-ad-break thingy. They designed the show around the TV format, and yet 10/ONE kill it with ads.
Otherwise, ONE coverage looks pretty slick so far, and the 5.1 sound is awesome on the right system. I still can't believe that they won't show Quali live on ONE or 12 (their other SD channel)... I mean, really how much footy do we need to see??
But...all in all, much better... keep up the good work ONE/TEN.

Did they really promise full weekend (all practice sessons + qualy + race) telecasts?
Obviously they did for the Oz GP but I never got the impression that it was going to happen for all GPs.
And seriously, dial-up? Get broadband dude...

Don't complain! In Tassie we don't get OneHD because we are too "regional" and probably will never get it! This means we don't get qualifying at all (we did last year at about 2am) and all races except the Australian GP will be at 11:20pm Sunday or later! This is despite Tasmania having the highest digital take up in the country because we had the first digital only channel.
You've got it good!

Though tassie has fresh water and clean air, nice mountains, and as they say, if you've got your health what else matters eh?

Apart from the shit sopcast/tvu/low qual foreign web streams where can you watch it online?
SSH/proxy and then watch bbc?
Anyone mind pming me the details?
I think it's a valid complaint anyway seeing as we had an upscaled hd telecast of the entire Australian weekend, but it's not like I didn't expect it, for years the Aussie media has treated F1 as if it is a single race in Melbourne.

I saw Hamo in the 08 Mac in HD.....you can't believe what the car looks like......it's like it's got 10 extra coats of paint.
F..k 10 SD.....we get Nascar crap in 720p.
Can I post here, even though my accent these days sounds more home counties, than Rural South Australian :-)
Actually, a prerequisite should be having to watch Ch10 coverage. Nothing bonds brothers more than the fight to not smash something following it.

I don't think we will ever get live Qualifying on Saturday's while Ten has the AFL on. Even on OneHD Footy will always come first.

And we're off and racing sports fans (well those of us on ONEHD)
Qualifying
Saturday 5pm we have DELAYED qualifying, its only an hour but yet again its When's DELAYED coverage.
Suck for me to bring you the news but someone has to, SDTEN viewers will not get qualifying at all, its been shafted.
Race
Sunday 4.30pm pre race build up with the Grand Prix coverage going LIVE at 4.50pm on *ONEHD ONLY*
Yet again SDTEN viewers will have to wait til, wait for it, *11.50pm* to see the race broadcast, ridiculous.
All in all, good but not ideal, i will still be watching the qualifying live via an internet feed of some sorts. Ungreatful of me as i have ONE and still am unhappy with only 1 hour delayed coverage which is a kind of slap in the face to the regional viewers who dont get ONE coverage at all.
Enjoy the racing and go McLaren!

I'm in Hobart, without One we are left with late night race coverage and no qualifying. Given everything is already delayed or not shown on TV I've decided to simply download qual and the race and watch them in my own time without adds. Won't watch ten again for F1 or MotoGp until it's live or at least at a reasonable hr.

I don't think thats realistic especially when you have the following factors:
- Timezone we are in
- Coverage of footy will always take priority over F1 when they clash.
i managed to watch all 3 practice session live on the internet for Malaysia. when Qual started the site i'd been using didn't have commentary in english. i kept an eye on the chat room that was going with the streaming and managed to find a couple of other sites. they come and go a bit, and sometimes some work and some don't.
and as usual, lets NOT post these in a public forum as we know what happens.
Well while I'm happy with the extra attention F1 is getting from One/HD so far this year its a shame we can't see Qualifying live at least (Practice sessions would be WAY too big an ask for us Aussies down here)..
And while the new flashy hour long pre-race show is great, I would much rather see footage of the grid preparations etc. than Beavis and Bulwinkles ugly mugs (no offence guys, but the similarities are uncanny).
Surely they could tell us the previous weeks news over the top of the live link to the track instead? Just to build up the excitement?
I also agree with those complaining about ad breaks during qualifying..ridiculous.. that they cant wait 5 minutes until the end of a session?...but thats commercial stations I guess..
Things are improving for us Aussie F1 fans, but we are still WAY behind the rest of the world...

Looks like the IPL is to be live on ONE HD this saturday night while the AFL is is to be shown the same time on TEN. So its possible that 10 can split the sport broadcasts, but once again the potential audience of F1 would be behind AFL & Cricket

That's very good that they are splitting their coverage. I would have thought (and im sure they said) they would run their AFL matches on SD and HD channels.
There is hope, but F1 will never by shown live at the expense of cricket or AFL.

In this little rural town of Canberra, we get the 10 HD demo channel 24/7. Except for when they show whatever is showing on regular 10 but in HD (Rove, for example). In fact, on occasion we've had the first 10 minutes or so of an F1 or MotoGP race on the HD channel only for them to realise - "shit, we're showing something interesting" and then back to HD demo.
I've been told the whole fiasco is because Southern Cross 10 can't get it's ads on the ONE HD channel at the moment so we don't get it at all.

Don't wish to rub it in, but One HD have China Qualifying on at 5:00pm Saturday afternoon. I will probably be trying to get out of the SCG following Carlton's fantastic win over the Swans, but should make it for Q3.

Bahrain Grand Prix Telecast
Saturday - No qualifying on ONE or Ten. No delayed Qualifying on ONE or Ten.
Sunday - No early morning replay of qualifying on ONE or Ten.
What a bloody surprise.
Sunday, 1 hour pre race show for god knows what reason, the pre race show should be canned it has no point.
Live Race coverage starting at 10pm on ONEHD.

What?! No qualifying?!!!!
The one hour pre-race show will have highlights of qualy I suppose but I won't be ableto wait - guess I will have to view it online then...
Oh yeah - is Darryl Beattie the most boring man on tv? It's like he's hopped up up to his eyeballs on prozac.
He makes Cameron McConville sound like Darrell Eastlake...

I won't want to know quali results an hour before the race though, ONE/TEN are so frustrating.
Hi fellow aussies
Couple of points:
- No Qualy sucks.. luckily the internet has the answers. (Any1 has access to racing u/g torrents? pls invite me via pm, thanks

)
- Having to record F1 rather than watch live, this is just as bad as when F1 was on Ch9. At least Ch9 was consistently bad.
- What is going to happen to Will Power? Awesome name, btw.
