x1 challenge is crazy, but in my experience it helps if you dont use the cockpit view, or the above cokpit view, and use the camera from behind the car.

it makes it a little less shaky, and you have less chance of not turning early enough into the corner, which if you do, will get you into the barrier in a blink.

That car is mental, and before i didnt get how a car could go so fast that nobody could drive it, this definitely wont be able to be driven.

200mph on the little bit between turns 4 and 5 at the ring, thats crazy.

Whats the best way to get lots of credits ie which races do i need to do?

The best way is to 'grind' the American Championship event at Indy Speedway. It's a 5 lap race and you can do it in around 3.45 with a fully tuned and race modded Chevy Corvette ZR1, earning yourself around 100,000 a go.

the F10 is great though. prefer the F2007, but they are both brilliant cars. 50s each at the topgear track

It's insanely fast, so much so that you don't enjoy ANY part of the lap you're on, because you're never in a corner long enough to enjoy it...

You constantly feel as if you're going to come off the track, and if you're a wheel user your arms get an intense workout from the neverending big direction changes. Something else that gets a work out is the start button, restarting and restarting because you've made a tiny mistake that gets amplified because of the speed into a massive wreck.

The wider the track the better it is to use, but Gran Turismo seems to specialise in the older style circuits that don't give you much of a let off for mistakes, even in regular cars!

I'm saving for the Ferrari F1's now as well, can't wait to have a go round the 'Ring in them!

a little firendly challenge guys. if you guys buy the F2007, try and beat my time of 50.6s at the topgear track changing nothing on the car apart from an oil change.

the winner can get a nice helmet for youself, or your bob if you think he deserves a prize.

ot if got the F10, then 50.8s.

Also, got the X1, finally! going to only drive this in practise, and get acclimatised to it. im going for at least silver.

So does that mean you can wright the thing off ?

you can try bronzing it without pushing too much, and staying off the edge of the tracks, and then just practise on the tracks you need it without those pesky DQs.

then push more little by little. im finding it a little easier to drive, and then gradually you will change your driving style to the car, and hopefully the golds will come!

of course it is harder on the DS3, but nothing is impossible!

Just finished getting the X1 from the Vettel challenge. Nightmare. Monza was O.K. But the Nurburgring and especially Suzuka took me ages. I'm about 10 seconds off silver. Not sure what you win with Silver, but doing 1000 laps without going off finding 10 seconds a lap isn't going to happen. If I need money, i'll whack my Enzo or 458 round Le mans for a lap.

Took the X1 round Indy, topped at 290mph.

Going back to a normal car, is very strange after. They seem so lethargic.

Realised today that I had actually done the Formula GT championship, so thats one less. Just the Enduro series now, but not doing those unless I can save part way through

Sorry, no, I meant that kind of crash though... The damage system in GT5 isn't great as we all know, and I don't think you can do much visual damage to the X1 like you can with other cars.

for Silver, you get an X1 that can be bought for 20,000,000 in the GT Dealership. so you can get it in any colour. for cold, it is a x1 like this.

if you want around 1mil for a race, AND a lvl 21 ticket, you can find the fiat 500 seasonal event. quite hard though.

but it is one time only.

The challenge was fun though. Tuning the 500 step by step, race after race, finding time both in myself and the car until I finally was fast enough to grab the win.

Need help please. Im on the net now got to level 29 A spec trying to buy a 4WD car or any car for that matter but for some reason it wont let me. When i go in to the dealership it comes up with this.

Cars of this make available for purchase at current level 0. WTF is that about.
Does that change when you get to A spec 30 or something ?

The only car still locked at level 29 is the X2010. I'm not sure why you're having this issue but it sounds like possible corrupt game save file. Does it do this both in the new and used car dealer?

Only new cars. If i go to BMW or who ever and click it go's back to main menu can not buy any new car, This all came about when i went on line with the thing befor that it was good as gold dont no what im going to do.

It's not a problem I've ever heard of either. I'm not trying to pass the buck, but www.gtplanet.net is probably THE best site for Gran Turismo, and they have a very large forum that might be able to help you with this particular problem...

It's really weird. When you went online with it for the first time, did the game go through all it's updates as well? There have been 10 updates or patches.

When i went on line it gave me about 6 updates no idea what they are tho. It still wants to do a track update or something along thoses lines which i wont do because its saying i need 8gb free space which is fine but we only get 10gb per mounth braodband any way. the only thing i can think of is that it keeps saying that time and date are not set which i would have throught that would do it when it was line.

I think the 'track update' is installing the track files to your PS3's HDD. That won't use any internet data up as it's just putting as much info as it can on the hard disk from the blu-ray, so you get faster loading times etc.

The other updates are all around 100mb (some smaller, some larger), and it might've combined them into as few downloads as possible. You should be on v1.10 which was the latest update. You'll know if you are by the fact that you can sign into PSN and enter the online sections of the game (like seasonal events and online dealership).

I can go on srasonal and online dealership so it must be 1.10 as you say cheers

As we speek i am loading the track files.as for the updates there was a few at 300 mb some at 60 mb and one at 600 mb i belive.

Going to try to change the time and dates see if that helps.

I was just wondering which car I should use/buy to do the rally academies (the first one and the Loeb one). That's alway my nightmare with the GT games: go through all the bloody resellers and having to guess which car I have to pick for the next compo. Thx

The Loeb one you have to use the C4 WRC. Also, you'll see his ghost up ahead, but you don't have to catch him, just gap him (like the Vettel challenge) and you'll be fine. I started off trying to catch him and making too many mistakes before realising on the 3rd or 4th go that I didn't need to to get the time.

I've been doing a little bit of tuning recently, and have made what I would guess is an emulation (because you can't fully race mod more than the 17 cars they've chosen ) of GT4 spec cars, one being a BMW Z4 coupe and the other the Mercedes C-Class AMG, both putting out about 440bhp and at around 525 performance points. I get some laps under them at Fuji, getting down to a good 1.42 with the Z4. I then compare it with my Audi R8 LMS (a GT3 car) and that's 6 seconds quicker... seems about right then!

The Z4 just feels like it has less downforce, which obviously it does, and also feels a little heavier in the steering, but otherwise in terms of pace and feel it goes like a real racing car!!

As for the other Rally events: I'd say make sure you have 4WD no matter what... I used the Lancia Delta Integrale in the bronze ones, then modified it for the silver category, and then just chose a full on rally car for the Gold ones.

Lancia Stratos i used for the middle one, Alfa Romeo i think i used for the first one, and the Lancia Delta for the last challenge. it has the most power and PP, and there is no PP limit for the last one.

Does any one know if you can get a F10 or 2007 in the online dealershipsee? If i can im not going to reset GT5 seeing as have all the ars i want.

You can't. The Online dealership works in the same way as the regular one, it's just regularly updated with fresh cars. they're all standard models, but have 0km's on the clock and are essentially 'new'. The only constant model in there is the FGT.

If you have net access, I recommend making few online seasonal events (several of short OSE races grants over 500 000 credits for win) and buy your red one for 20 000 000.

Also OSE makes it more easier to have enough credits to buy F12007, F1 2010, expensive classic cars and high end Lemans cars. And while doing so you also earn 30 000 - 55 000 expereience points per race win.
