To help with my database of race entries for 1962 i need some info on any of the folowing Lotus drivers at Mallory Park in 1962.
R. Rose---------------Elite
R.G. Gibbs-----------Elite
W.A. Jones----------Elite
Sid Taylor-----------Elite, Known
J.A OR G.V Gould---------Lotus 11
Jim Morley-----------------Lotus 11,Known
R.Redgrave----------------Lotus 17
M.J.Beard------------------Lotus 17
C.J Hicks-------------------Lotus 11
J Bedford ------------------Lotus 7
Any information would be nice , first names ? and confirmation of the Lotus types .
As was the custom of the day First names were not given in the programmes which makes identification difficult .

R Rose may well have been Bob Rose, in which case he was in 500KRA.

Thanks for that Roger , thus i presume R was for Robert? Also nicknames do play a part in driver identification which makes this project even more difficult .
From 68/69 drivers names were given in full most of the time , but not allways.
Allthough this thread covers 62 , i am also covering 63 to 66 so help there would be great, this is not about f1/2 but mainly sports car drivers from national/club races.

M Beard was Mike, IIRC. He ran the 17 for many a year till the mid 60s, with my notes for something else showing that he beat Terry Bone, presumably still Ecurie Freeze from Essex(?), and Robin McArthur, both in 1100cc 23s at an NSCC Whit meeting at Silverstone in '63, so still a competitive car, perhaps with an FWB. IIRC he was based in W London, possibly Kensington area. The car was advertised for sale a year or 2 later in Autosport, although some connection with an address in the Chalfonts area rings a bell. I have not had chance to check back.
BTW, I would welcome any assistance in contacting Robin McArthur, he of McArthur Weston racing with a 7 then a 23 to 1965/66, or any general information about him.

R Redgrave would be Richard who, IIRC, raced a Merlyn in the mid-sixties.

COLIN Hicks seems to ring a bell and woudn't the W.A. Jones be Bill Jones?
C J Hicks would be Joe, killed at Goodwood - see
http://www.motorsportmemorial.org/focus.php?db=ct&n=2238Agree W A Jones is presumably Bill who raced a 500 and then briefly the Lister F2, usually propping up the field.
Goulds from memory were John and George, went on to race a Ginetta G4

The Goulds also, reputedly, ran an Eleven GT up until 64

What was Bluebelle's husband named because I think he always made the entries?

Adrian Chambers, he of SCA Freight, one of, if not the, pioneer of very fast daily, same-day deliveries from his E London depot to Paris, with his no-permit-needed Merc vans shuttling onto the ferries. See Frank Gardner and Camaro for SCA Racing. Adrian also raced in FJ/F3 around 63/64 as part of the Euro-circus with the other usual suspects.
Norman Surtees later raced in F100 , 1970/71

Alan Gough ran one of the Lotus 11 GTs up to 1965.
ISTR that Terry Bone went over to a possibly works Elva in 65ish. I ought to check some period entries.

BTW has anyone a photograph of Clive Lacey's Merlyn with a hardtop on running as a GT, not necessarily for posting, just for my records.?
