Great so now Max Mosley has a seat on the senete and Todt will give the senete more power.
In otherwords Max Mosley hasn't gone anywhere.
Welcome to another decade of politics over racing everyone.
So this means that we did not get rid of Palpatine. Viceroy Gunray will be a loyal puppet.
I just hope that Todt will be able to prove all naysayers wrong. I won´t hold my breath though

Ah well, for a brief moment the FIA lifted itself out of the gutter, wiped the rancid sewage from it's shit encrusted eyes, gazed at the stars and dreamed of a better life.
Dreams over though, time to crawl back into the sewers, better get comfortable, it's going to be a long stay.

The result was 135 votes for Todt and 49 votes from Ari Vatanen. More later.
Poor Ari, on top of everything else that probably means he was forced to give all his votes to Todt.

A massacre, the rght man won
Todt wins? Hooray... He may bring some change, but all in all it will be business as usual, and that's probably what most of them wanted anyway. That way you can spread the dough much more conveniently, play your little king of the hill games, and all that. For the life of me I don't understand why anyone like Todt should have even been allowed to run, considering his obvious Ferrari ties and thus bias.
What we have in prospect is continuation. Continuation of the current regime. The reality is that nothing will change now to any dramatic effect. It's as you were FiA, nothing wrong with us.

Let's judge him on his actions..
From what I understand he used the same tactic on others as against Brundle - making their life so stressful that many decided to self-censor. A favoured tactic was to revoke press passes at the circuit, but the time everything was cleared up the journalist had wasted stressful hours - maybe a whole day - getting things sorted, when he should have been in the paddock catching up on rumours and preparing his report. I believe Richard Williams has talked about the situation too - as has Jody Scheckter.
Vatanen thought he had over 100 votes, his vote count is strangely low. But even if it was fixed, I don't expect it to be overturn. Therefore I really hope Todt just played an election game when he praised everything Mosley has done. One has to be a moron to support Mosley and Todt hasn't shown signs of that before he started his campaign.
Autosport headlines:
11.01 Baguette ahead in first practice
11.37 Todt elected new president of the FIA
Baguette indeed...
Geez it wasn't even close. Vatanen reckoned he had more votes, barring those of 20 undetermined countries.
Seems like, as he conducted most of his campaign, was talking absolute BS.

None, status quo, same shit different day, the establishment would not have backed him to the hilt if they felt their position in jeopardy.

For 2009 - I think it's probably the Afghan election.
Of recent years, the prize most go to the 2001 US election.

Heh, the Mosley EGA difference is better still.
Personally, I think they should just ask me, since I've got pretty much every call right in the past 3 years on matters FIA :-)
(Yes that's terribly conceited).
